The big news today is that Tim Curry will be the new Palpatine in Star Wars Episode VII! Luring Mickey Skywalker over to to the dark side, Tim Curry ala cloned Palpatine will have his revenge!

Okay, so maybe that there is a complete Ewok fantasy, but we love a good joke. Anyways, Tim Curry will be taking over the voice work for Palptaine in The Clone Wars television show and his voice work can be heard in the season finale which will be aired Saturday. Ashley, my question is simple – do you ever feel like you are bringing in a wider audience to Star Wars with how you have Her Universe and such a powerful character in The Clone Wars? Adding a breath of fresh air to the fanbase so to say?

AE: I do believe that The Clone Wars has introduced Star Wars to a new generation of fans. I also think having a female Jedi like Ahsoka has brought a lot more girls into the franchise. New Short Story from John Ostrander “Eruption”

Star Wars Books posted an update today covering various Star Wars topics including the news that Dark Horse Comics writer John Ostrander will be writing a short story for Star Wars Insider called “Eruption” which will include artwork by Jan Duursema. “It’s a fun adventure starring Je’daii Rangers Hawk Ryo from the DOTJ comic and Into the Void cover girl, Lanoree Brock.” It will be in Star Wars Insider #141 as well the upcoming novel Into the Void.

Also mentioned was a new short story pitch by Jason Fry starring a character from The Clone Wars that has been green-lighted, Tusken Raider action in John Jackson Miller’s Kenobi, and some hints on Joe Schreiber’s Maul: Lockdown that included input from James Luceno.
