With this following the release of a new Brazilian cover for Timothy Zahn’s Heir to the Empire, collectors might want to keep their eyes on Brazil.

Update: The new cover for Heir to the Jedi is up on Amazon Brazil, and they mention that there will be 17 new books in 2015 and 2016 with Kenobi being the next one in February. Looking forward to seeing the new covers.

Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Full of Sith: Episode XLII features special guest Darren Hayes (Savage Garden) who has some wonder discussions about Star Wars. I’ve never listened to Savage Garden, so I know nothing about Darren’s musical background, but he turned out to be a really fun guest and I really enjoyed listening to the show. Don’t skip this one.

Episode XLIV has a nice chat with James Arnold Taylor as they talk about the holidays and James’ new book JAT 365. Fun episode and a good one for James Arnold Taylor fans. He even does an awesome Plo Koon voice.

RebelForce Radio: Episode 12.13.2013 features special guest Chris Macht (The Force Among Us, The Force Within Us) who hangs out for the entire show as they talk Star Wars, the holidays, Star Wars Christmas music and more. A nice episode to head into the holidays with.

Star Wars Action News: Episode 411 has a new batch of toy reviews for the 3-3/4″ Black Series Wave Two figures, as well as a very nice interview with Star Wars artist Christian Slade. They also cover the Star Wars Radio Drama cd’s, trading cards, discounts and more. If you’re not a collector, the Christian Slade interview is worth the listen as he talks about his Star Wars art and what it’s like being an artist and a Star Wars fan.

Star Wars Bookworms: Episode 16 features Aaron and Teresa as they review Razor’s Edge and Dark Times: Fire Carrier. Their guests for this episode include Eric Gellar (ForceCast) and William Devereux (EU Cast and We Talk Clones). As always, discussions delve into full spoilers. They also rank their favorite Star Wars books this year. Nice episode and definitely worth listening to for EU fans.

Temple Archives: Episode 79 has an interview with Kenobi author John Jackson Miller that books fans won’t want to miss. Afterwards, Jesse and Wayne plunge into their review of the book which surprisingly did not meet their expectations. Very interesting discussion of the book looking at some of the broader aspects and specific details rather than just a recap of events.

Author John Jackson Miller has posted his production notes for Kenobi. If you aren’t familiar with John’s production notes, he always writes up a bunch of fun trivia and cool behind-the-scenes info for all of this stories, be they books, comics or short stories. And they do contain spoilers so tread at your own risk. Click here to check out the notes for Kenobi.

Also worth noting, preorders are now available for the mass market paperback edition of Kenobi on Amazon. For Christmas gift ideas, John has small quantities of signed books and comics available for those who are interested. Plus don’t forget to check out John’s newsletter (something I’d not seen before and I’m definitely signing up for).

Here’s this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Fangirls Going Rogue: Episode 1 is a long one, almost two hours, but hosts Tricia Barr and Teresa Delgado do a good job of keeping it interesting. In their debut episode, they cover a lot of ground, introductions, an overview of their intended focus for the podcast, their opinions on fandom and women, a great interview with Star Wars: The Clone Wars voice actress Catherine Taber, and so much more. I think my highlight of the episode, aside from the interview with Cat Taber, was Tricia and Teresa’s discussion segment on Boba Fett. Tricia isn’t a big fan of Fett but Teresa is, and it was fun to hear their opinions on one of my favorite Star Wars characters.

Fictional Frontiers: Episode 261 (listed as Episode #1 on Shotglass Digital) includes an interview with Kenobi author John Jackson Miller. Fiction Frontiers’ host, Sohaib, is one of the best interviewers out there, so if you like listening to interviews, you’ll want to check this one out. As always, he does a nice job talking with John, covering his book, and touching on his upcoming projects.

Episode 265 has a nice interview with Empire and Rebellion: Razor’s Edge author Martha Wells. Sohaib covers some of the choices Martha made in the direction of the book, as well as her view on Leia, Han, and the Alderaanian pirates. The interview is spoiler free, so be sure to check it out.

Here’s this week’s Star Wars podcasts in review.

501stCast: Episode 77 catches up on all the news from the 501st Legion and includes an awesome interview with author Ryder Windham who talks about the Death Star Owner’s Technical Manual.

Bombad Radio: Episode 103 features audio from Salt Lake Comic Con 2013 and the Ray Park panel. Ray talks about playing Toad in the X-Men movies, Darth Maul, Snake Eyes and how he got started in Mortal Kombat Annihilation which actually led to his gig as Darth Maul. Really good audio and some nice comments from Ray who even touches on Star Wars Episode VII.

Episode 98 features more audio from Salt Lake Comic Con 2013, this time covering the William Shatner panel. I had initially passed this episode over in order to catch up with other podcasts, but when I finally got the chance to listen to it, I was thoroughly entertained. Shatner puts on a good show and his panel is pretty fun to listen to. Whether you’re a fan of Star Trek or not, it’s worth a listen.
