Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Bombad Radio: Episode 140 continues their discussion of the Star Wars Expanded Universe as they dive into the Hand of Thrawn duology by Timothy Zahn. I never thought of it before, but they nicely summed it up as the series that tied up the Bantam era and delivered readers into the New Jedi Order. They give a good overview of what’s going on in the books without completely spoiling them.

Episode 141 is their live recording of the Nathan Fillion panel at Salt Lake Fan Experience. If you’re a Nathan Fillion fan, you won’t want to miss this one. He tells some funny stories from working on Saving Private Ryan, Firefly, Castle and more. Funny, entertaining, it’s a great show to check out. The audio is a little echoey at first, but it’s gets better pretty quick.

Coffee with Kenobi: Episode #17  features a chat with The Star Wars Heresies author Paul McDonald. Unfortunately, I had a little bit of trouble listening to this episode as Paul tends to talk really fast and it was hard for me to keep up with what he was saying. It probably didn’t help any that I haven’t read the book. Regardless, fans of the book might want to check this one out.

Collectors Cast: Episode #2 covers LEGO and Disney collectibles and includes special guest Paul Harrison from Jedi Temple Archives who was able to get extra info out of Hasbro regarding Star Wars at the past New York Toy Fair. From 6-inch Black Series taun tauns, a cardboard Jabba dais with Salacious Crumb figure to Empire Strikes Back surprises (possibly a Wampa) and with the 3-3/4″ scale, a new Leia, a new skiff guard, and more. Lots of collectible news and some nice discussion in this episode. I’m certainly looking forward to the upcoming ESB figures.

RebelForce Radio: Episode 4.18.2014 reveals their big announcement that Jimmy and Jason will be hosting the Behind the Scenes stage at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim. Jason also talks about his new house and how he’ll be scare for a while during the move and some upcoming work projects. Steve Sansweet drops in to talk Little Debbie and the new event room at the ranch. While Steve didn’t talk too much about it, I was intrigued when he mentioned Jeremy Bulloch’s Boba Fett collection. Would be interesting to hear more about that and what other Star Wars actors have themed character collections. Anyways, since Jason had to leave early in this show, Steve Glosson filled in as co-host and helped Jimmy cover the AT-AT foot speculation as well as some other Star Wars discussion. I liked the idea of Jawas riding around in the AT-AT. That would be totally awesome. Jimmy sneaks in a little Captain America: The Winter Soldier as he plays a sound byte that apparently features the Wilhelm scream. And of course there’s the Billy Dee quote of the week, this time featuring Billy Dee on Arsenio Hall’s new show delivering some funny pick up lines. Great show all around.

Special Report on the Episode VII cast features Jimmy Mac, David Collins and Kyle Newman as they talk about the cast reveal and what it could mean. I especially enjoyed some of Kyle’s speculation about how the movie could go with Luke playing a more or less retired character off on Tatooine who gets pulled back into the big picture. I also found myself in agreement with their analysis of the cast photo that was revealed and the possible importance of who was sitting where. Harrison Ford’s prominent spot right next to J.J. Abrams definitely adds some credence to the rumor that Han’s role will be substantial in Episode VII. Daisy Ridley’s spot between Carrie Fisher and Ford also bodes well for her playing their kid, whether she’s named Jaina Solo or not. A nice episode to listen into for thoughts and speculation on the casting news.

Rebels Report: Star Wars Rebels WonderCon Panel Live Recording is pretty much what the title implies, a live recording of the Star Wars Rebels panel at Wondercon. The audio is great and the panel includes Dave Filoni, Vanessa Marshall, Kilian Plunkett and Kevin Kiner all talking about the show. The panel is hosted by David Collins and covers the music and theme for the show, the shifting species of the characters (Hera went from being a Togruta to a Twi’lek, Sabine was almost a Zabrak, and Zeb was a Snivvian), and the lack of Coruscant. Star Wars Rebels fans won’t want to miss this one.

Skywalking through Neverland: Episode 27 kicks off with a discussion of Kevin Kiner’s Star Wars Rebels theme which was revealed at WonderCon. Then they head off into Dancing with the Stars‘ Disney night before getting back to Star Wars. They interview Mariem Oues­lati, one of the founders of The Star Wars Tunisia Fan Club, and talk about saving Mos Espa, the real Tatooine and more. Afterwards, they talk with Dave Skale about Star Tours: The Adven­tures Con­tinue. I’ve heard people talk about Star Tours before, but this is the first time I’ve heard anyone mention the Prequels regarding the ride. They also provide a nice comparison of how Star Tours differs between Disneyland, Disney World and Disneyland Paris and some of the hidden easter eggs in the ride. Overall an excellent episode with lots of Star Wars discussion.

Star Wars Report: Episode #127 is hosted by Mark, Teresa and Aaron as they run through some recent news and rumors. Riley pops in for a few minutes as they discuss the Star Wars Rebels news from WonderCon. They also touch on the AT-AT foot speculation and have a nice chat about some of the upcoming Star Wars Rebels young reader books. With Riley absent from this episode, there’s lots of EU focus, and I dare say I liked this show a lot more than usual because of it. Definitely worth listening to.

The Star Wars Report – Rebels Roundtable: RR Prelude #1 discusses the Order 66 arc from Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 6. Hosted by Johnathan, Nathan, Jen, Berent, Dan and Mark, they do a great job of covering the arc and providing some very interesting and entertaining commentary on the episodes. While there are a lot of hosts in the episode, they do really remarkable job of giving everyone time to speak with everyone talking over each other or getting forgotten about. The number of hosts also means that there is a greater variety of viewpoints. It makes for a nice show. I recommend checking it out.
