Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.
Assembly of Geeks: “Surviving A Giant Monster Attack” kicks off with a monster themed intro then segues into a discussion on how the military would deal with Godzilla. They also talk about the Star Trek 3 director, Denis Lawson’s response to Episode VII, the Zac Efron Daredevil rumor, the Channing Tatum Gambit rumor, the look of Ben Affleck in the batsuit and the batmobile, and Jessie Eisenberg playing Lex Luthor. They also talk about tv series season finales like Once Upon A Time, Castle, Agents of SHIELD, Person of Interest, Revenge, The Black List, The Goldbergs and Arrow. Tons of movie and television discussion which makes this a good episode for catching up on entertainment news.
Bombad Radio: Episode 147 gives a quick recap of their past Mass Effect coverage and interviews before announcing their plans to renew coverage as things get heated up for Mass Effect 4 which will be getting press at this year’s E3. After that, they talk with Jeopardy champion Arthur Chu. I know, it’s an odd choice of a guest for podcast that typically features Star Wars, film and video game celebrities, but it’s actually kind of interesting. Arthur talks about what’s involved in getting on the show, how you can prep for it, and the fallout of going viral. He also talks about voice over work, a field he’s trying to break out in.
Episode 148 has a nice audio recording of Nick Gillard’s panel at Salt Lake Fan Experience. Nick Gillard is the stunt coordinator who choreographed the lightsaber fights for the prequels. He talks about becoming a stunt man, the hardest stunts, working on Indiana Jones, sword fighting with the Star Wars actors, his favorite stunt, choreographing the fights and much more. The Q&A at the end asked him about the Grievous versus Obi-Wan scene, what actor was the hardest to work with (which turned out to be Ian) and some funny off the wall questions. Good episode to check out. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…
