Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Aggressive Negotiations: Issue 038 focuses on the Witches of Dathomir. They steer clear of Legends as they discuss how the witches were portrayed in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the novel Dark Disciple. They talk about their culture, compare them to the Sith and Jedi, and discuss their relationship with Palpatine. Pretty good episode.

Assembly of Geeks: Sorcerer’s Stone & Classic NES Madness covers the rush to buy the new NES console, they talk Big Bang Theory, the Han Solo movie, Doctor Strange, and some Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them which leads to some Harry Potter discussion. Good episode.

Awards Chatter: Robert De Niro episode features a nice interview with the actor as they touch on a bunch of the movies that have stretched across his long career, his thoughts on comedies versus drama, how he ended up working with Scorsese and De Palma, some of the movies he’s had to pass on, and his thoughts on his latest movie The Comedian.

Children of the Force: Episode 52 covers lots of stuff including the Death Star door sounds, news, they watch and comment on the new Rogue One featurette, they talk about some of the ties between Catalyst and The Clone Wars, funny moments in Star Wars, and best jump scares in Star Wars. Fun episode.

Coffee With Kenobi: Episode 59 starts off with some audio from a Star Wars Reads event that Cory and Dan hosted. They break from that for some news, talk comics, play a NYCC interview with the folks at Hasbro, provide a lit rundown, a video game update, and they wrap up with an interview with Freddie Prinze Jr. covering Star Wars Rebels season three. The Freddie interview is awesome as always, and definitely makes this episode a must listen.

Great Big Beautiful Podcast: Episode 104 begins with some discussion of Star Wars movie marathons and whether Rogue One will have a crawl, then they cut to their conversation with Pablo Hidalgo. They talk with Pablo about how he got started at Lucasfilm, what the story group does, answering questions online, and they even talk a little gaming. Fun conversation and worth a listen.

Radio 1138: Episode 54 starts in the car as Mark and James kick off the show. Then they cut to some audio clips of people they talked to at the Rancho Obi-Wan Gala including Dave Filoni, Pablo Hidalgo, Leland Chee and Jimmy Mac. Later on they talk with Garrick Hagon and Paul Warren at MCM Expo as well as some coverage of some other events, and a little Han Solo movie speculation. Good episode with lots of content as usual.

Rebel Force Radio: Episode 11.18.2016 kicks off with Rogue One as they talk box office numbers, then they dive into some of the features of the new The Force Awakens 3D Blu-ray collector’s edition, and afterwards they talk with Brandon Allinger about the Star Wars Art: Ralph McQuarrie book. Good episode.

Skywalking Through Neverland: Episode 145 begins with a review of Disney’s Moana as they’re joined by Mark Oguschewitz. Then they have an interview with Craig Miller former head of fan relations at Lucasfilm and ancillary producer. Craig talks with them about the first Star Wars conventions, including MidAmeriCon and what this year’s MidAmeriCon was like. Afterwards there is some Star Wars trivia with Sarah’s parents. Good episode.

Starships Sabers and Scoundrels: Episode 16 starts with some Thanksgiving discussion, then they move on to Rogue One stuff, a little non-spoiler Catalyst discussion, Han Solo movie news, an interview from Dallas Fan Days, and a Revenge of the Sith discussion. Afterwards they review Star Wars Rebels “Iron Squadron” with Courtney Martin. There’s a cooking with Chewbacca segment for some laughs, and some comparisons between Ahsoka and Catalyst (no spoilers). Good episode.

Starships Sabers and Scoundrels: Episode 16.5 focuses on Star Wars Rebels “The Wynkahthu Job.” Nice comprehensive review with good observations. Fun episode.

Talk Star Wars: Episode 50 goes into some fun topics including what the fate of Captain Phasma should be, cinema snacks, Shmi’s grave and whether Luke knew who she was, if the map was for Rey to find Luke, Sith eyes, Rey’s origin and relationship with the Force, challenging Rey, should Ben be redeemed, Rogue One and some non-spoiler Catalyst discussion. Great episode with lots of rich discussion.

The DC Justice Cast: The DC Legends App episode reviews the game and gives fans a heads up on what it’s like. Nice little 5 minute episode.

The Sandcrawler: Episode 8 covers action figure articulation, Black Series, some fan feedback on which figure they’d bring with them to a desert island, and their recent toy hunting exploits. Fun episode.

Western Reaches: Episode 17 touches on the books they’re reading–Good Morning, Midnight by Lily Brooks-Dalton, Dark Orbit by Carolyn Ives Gilman, The Dream-Quest of Vellitt Boe by Kij Johnson, The Offworld Collection by Leigh Alexander and Laura Hudson, and Catalyst by James Luceno–and the games they’re playing. A lot of focus goes to Dishonored (1 & 2) and a bunch of VR games which is kind of interesting. Good episode with fun discussions.
