New Images from ‘The Essential Guide to Warfare’

Star Wars Books has posted three more images from The Essential Guide to Warfare. There is an image by Chris Scalf featuring Lando and some starfighters at Tanaab. There is an image by Drew Baker that shows Luke and Daala at some point prior to the Fate of the Jedi period. Daala having her eye patch is a nice touch, she’s also looking her age. Lastly there is an image by Modi of the Clone Wars era Sector Armies map.

Star Wars Books has posted two new images from The Essential Guide to Warfare. One is a picture of the title page showcasing the battle of Coruscant by artist Dave Seeley. In case you missed it, Star Wars Books added two new images to their Essential Guide to Warfare album on Facebook. One image is entitled “Last Stand of the Taungs” and was done by artist Bruno Werneck. The other is an image of the Darktrooper project, also by Werneck.

As previously reported, Star Wars author Jason Fry is writing a short story that ties into the upcoming Essential Guide to Warfare. Beforehand we didn’t know what the story would be called, but now we know: The Guns of Kelrodo-Ai. The story will star Shea Hublin, who nicely ties in with one of the previews Star Wars Books posted from The Essential Guide to Warfare.

Still no word on the title for Jeff Grubb’s upcoming short story.

More Star Wars Short Fiction On The Way

Del Rey revealed on their Star Wars Books Facebook page that there’s two more original, short-fiction pieces coming to Star Wars Insider. One of the stories will be by Jeff Grubb, the author of the upcoming Scourge, and will be a tie-in to the larger story. The other tale will be by Jason Fry and will tie-in to his upcoming book The Essential Guide to Warfare. No release dates or titles yet for the short fiction, but we’ll keep you updated.

Star Wars: Scourge will be out on April 24, 2012 in paperback and digital formats. Star Wars: The Essential Guide of Warfare will be out on April 3, 2012 in oversized paperback.

Two New Images for Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare

Star Wars Books has posted two new images to their photo album for the upcoming Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare. One of them shows off a Clone Wars era Republic weapons factory by John Van Fleet (who has done a lot of cover art for Star Wars novels) which you can check out here. The other image is also by John Van Fleet and is an Imperial recruitment poster featuring Imperial pilot Shea Hublin who appeared in the comic strip Princess Leia, Imperial Servant back in 1979.

In the comments section, Del Rey has dropped some interesting tid bit worth taking note of including a first look at “Callista Abeloth”, new ships by artists Ansel Hsiao, Ian Fullwood, Darren Tan, and John Van Fleet such as Xim’s warships, Tionnesse ships, Hutt vessels, Wookiee Owool Interceptors, and the Anakin Solo Star Destroyer. Plus a promise of Yuuzhan Vong artwork. They also confirmed a third guide to characters is in the works.

The Essential Guide to Warfare comes out May 22, 2012.
