Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Beltway Banthas: Episode 29 Swara talks about Celebration, they talk about Jedi, the Force and where Luke is taking them, then they have the audio from the Star Wars Military panel at Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017 which featured Jason Fry, John Liang and Thomas Harper.

Blast Points: Episode 71 covers the Celebration panels they weren’t able to go to as they talk about the Rebels panel, speculate on what the animated show will be, and play some audio of Dave Filoni from the Star Wars Show stage as he hints at the next project. They go over the Animated Origins panel, These Are the Droids You’re Looking For panel, the Heroines panel, and they talk about the Cantina panel and the vegetable carver guy. They also talk about the fact that not all of the big panels were livestreamed and are not available on YouTube, they ponder why there were no displays for Rogue One costumes or The Last Jedi, and more. Great episode.

Bombad Radio: Episode 276 is a great interview with author Kevin J. Anderson covering his new projects Spine of the Dragon and Louis and Clark, what it’s like co-authoring projects, his writing process, as well as Star Wars, Dune, Hellhole and Superman. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…

Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

501stCast: Episode 88 touches base with the trooper who finished walking around Australia and the trooper who trekked from San Francisco to San Diego. Then they recap their Star Wars Celebration experiences and play a live segment they did at the con. Wrapping things up is troop reports and upcoming events. Great way to catch up with the legion. Lots of good content in this episode.

Coffee With Kenobi: Ultimate Star Wars Book Chat features authors Adam Bray and Tricia Barr as Dan and Corey interview them about the book Ultimate Star Wars. It was a good interview but I do want to note there were a couple audio issues with overlapping audio and one lengthy pause. Otherwise a good episode.

Comics With Kenobi: Episode 1 is hosted by Jeff and Matt as they talk a little about themselves and their comic fandom then dive into Star Wars comics. They go over all the Marvel Star Wars series that are currently out and talk a little about the latest issues. With there not being that many Star Wars comic podcasts out there (in fact I actually don’t know of any dedicated solely to Star Wars comics), this podcast definitely fills a niche that’s been longing for some attention. Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Full of Sith: Episode XCII is another cross-over style episode, this time featuring the hosts of the ForceCast, Eric, Erik and Justin. They talk about their introductions to Star Wars, how they got started on the ForceCast, and some discussion on the trailer and the Mace Windu rumors.

Episode XCIII kicks off with a full on discussion of the newly released trailer for The Force Awakens. Mike, Bryan, Bobby and Amy share their favorite moments from the trailer without taking up an hour of time. Instead, the rest of the show focuses on Star Wars Tours. They talk about the old version of the ride, the new incarnation, what the ride is like, and they even get into a Disneyland discussion about Disney jail and Tom Sawyer island. Really fun episode and definitely worth a slot on your playlist.

Now Playing Podcast: to broaden my horizons a bit (and mostly because I enjoyed Star Wars Action News’ cross-over cast for Plastic Galaxy), I decided to try out a few episodes of Now Playing Podcast. Fair warning, if you see a short show, it’s because it’s a teaser for one of their fundraising episodes. Sometimes they’ll do exclusive shows only available to those who donate and they’ll release a short teaser of the full show for everyone to check out. I’d recommend skipping those as it’ll just aggravate you that you can’t listen to the full show. Picking some movies I like at random, I tried their Halloween, Predator, The Lost Boys and Terminator shows. Each is a full discussion with a three host format breaking down the main scenes of the movie, providing a little bit of film trivia, and sharing their thoughts on the film, the actors, the director and the music. I don’t mind, but for those that do, they do use profanity. Overall, it’s kind of entertaining, but I’m not sure if I’ll check out more or not.

Ultimate Star Wars and a New Star Wars Author

I noticed this entry last week on edelweiss however I didn’t know all the details until I listened to Rebels Declassified – Empire Day which features guests Adam Bray and Tricia Barr. There Adam and Tricia revealed that they both worked on an upcoming DK book called Ultimate Star Wars: The Definitive Guide to the Star Wars Universe. While this is the third Star Wars book for Adam Bray, this will be Tricia Barr’s first Star Wars book, and here at Roqoo Depot, we wish Tricia a congratulations! She’s now part of canon.

As the above image shows, Ultimate Star Wars will be out in April 2015. While it only shows the author as Ryder Windham, the book also includes the before mentioned Adam Bray and Tricia Barr, along with longtime Star Wars author Dan Wallace.
