Tim Lebbon, author of Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void, has a new book out today in his Toxic City series.

Jack and his friends are in a race against time to save the remaining inhabitants of a postapocalyptic London from a nuclear bomb.

Two years after London is struck by a devastating terrorist attack, it is cut off from the rest of the world, protected by a large force of soldiers (known as Choppers) while the rest of Britain believe that their ex-capital is a toxic, uninhabited wasteland. But that’s not true. Jack and his friends know that the truth is very different–and incredible: the few remaining survivors in London are changing; developing strange, fantastic powers; evolving. And the Chopper force guarding London is treating the ruined city as its own experimental ground.

Now, Jack’s powers are growing. His friend Lucy-Anne’s powers are developing too, and Nomad–that mysterious woman who started it all–is close by. But the Choppers have initiated their final safeguard–a huge nuclear bomb that will wipe out London, and everyone still within its boundaries. Jack and his friends must spread the news of the bomb and save everyone they can. Before that can happen, Jack must face his father, the deadly Reaper, in their final showdown.

If you missed out on the Tim Lebbon live chat on Star Wars Books Facebook page yesterday, you can check it out here. Below you’ll find our edited transcript.

Tim Lebbon: Hi guys! Looking forward to this. Let the questions begin!

In the book you depict the actual training that Je’daii go through on Tython; how much creative freedom did you have with those sequences?

Tim Lebbon: Quite a lot, actually. My editor was keen to see some of the training in the Je’daii Temples, and as I developed the story I found that it fed in VERY nicely to Lanoree and Dalien’s background and what went wrong between them in the past. The temples themselves were already established by John and Jan, but the training they go through and a lots of the geographical details, etc, are all my own. That was a GREAT part of writing the novel … and there are other Temples I didn’t get to visit. Continue Reading Tim Lebbon Live Chat Recap…

Time to catch up. Here’s what I’ve been listening to and what might be worth checking out.

501stCast: The 501stCast is a podcast ran by members of the 501st Legion and provides extensive coverage of what the 501st Legion is up to and where it’s heading. Episode 72 also featured a nice chat with The Clone Wars voice actor Stephen Stanton who talked about Tarkin, Morallo Eval and Meebur Gascon. He also went over his involvement with the Pink Five Saga. Worth checking out if you’re a Stanton or TCW fan. The episode also has quite a few links in the show notes worth clicking on.
