When most fantasy novels pursue adventures about elves, dragons, and dwarves, Troy Denning isn’t one to be afraid to branch out into new territory. The Giant Among Us is the second novel in a fantasy story that focuses on all things relating to giants and giant kin. Star Wars readers can have a voracious appetite for reading, but alas there always comes a point where you run out of books. One of the best things you can do is pick a Star Wars author you like and see what else they written beyond Star Wars. In this case I picked Troy Denning and Troy has written quite a bit outside the Star Wars realm. One of my favorites is The Ogre’s Pact. It’s the first in a trilogy set in the Forgotten Realms. While there are familiar tropes in the story, Troy manages to give each a unique spin while spicing the whole thing up with a heaping helping of giants. Click here to read our full review.
