July 15, 2014 at 12:01 am | Posted in Books, Reviews, Sci-Fi, scifi/fantasy | Leave a commentTags: cibola burn, james s.a. corey, the expanse
Cibola Burn is the fourth book in James S.A. Corey’s The Expanse series, and like the others, it’s a great character adventure in tome sized format (a respectable 581 pages). With a new planet beyond the ring being colonized, humanity finds itself in conflict over who has the right to this strange alien world. But what no one bothers to ask is whether the aliens ever truly left. It’s up to Holden and his crew to sort things out and, ultimately, try to save as many lives as possible as everything goes to hell. Click here to read our full review.

New Release: ‘Cibola Burn’ by James S.A. Corey
June 17, 2014 at 6:20 am | Posted in Books, Sci-Fi | Leave a commentTags: cibola burn, james s.a. corey, the expanse
Cibola Burn by James S.A. Corey is out today. This marks the fourth book in The Expanse series.
The gates have opened the way to a thousand new worlds and the rush to colonize has begun. Settlers looking for a new life stream out from humanity’s home planets. Ilus, the first human colony on this vast new frontier, is being born in blood and fire.
Independent settlers stand against the overwhelming power of a corporate colony ship with only their determination, courage, and the skills learned in the long wars of home. Innocent scientists are slaughtered as they try to survey a new and alien world. The struggle on Ilus threatens to spread all the way back to Earth.
James Holden and the crew of his one small ship are sent to make peace in the midst of war and sense in the midst of chaos. But the more he looks at it, the more Holden thinks the mission was meant to fail.
And the whispers of a dead man remind him that the great galactic civilization that once stood on this land is gone. And that something killed it.
For more information, ordering links and excerpts, check out the official product page. If you’re in the Santa Monica, CA area, the authors will be there for a book signing at Barnes & Noble at 7:00 PM.

Abaddon’s Gate takes the characters of The Expanse series and sets them up for an adventure that feels both incredibly complete and a tiny stepping stone toward something unfathomably huge in scale. Trouble on the Rocinante leads Holden and his crew to the mysterious Ring. The dreaded protomolecule has pulled up stakes on Venus and placed itself in orbit around Uranus as a ring shaped structure that could be a portal to another realm. But Holden and his crew are not alone. Click here to read our full review.
