Black Series and Elite Series: Kylo Ren

In the aftermath of Force Friday, Kylo Ren has invaded stores everywhere. With a variety of sizes to chose from, I went with the Hasbro Black Series 6-inch figure, and the impressive Disney Elite Series figure which is measures in at 7-1/2 inches. Below you’ll find my review with tons of pictures and comparisons. Enjoy!
First up, The Black Series. Hasbro went with a soft goods cloak and hood as well as a soft plastic cape draping on his back. It’s an interesting combination that allows for a lot of posing and does not interfere with his legs or arm articulation. Continue Reading Black Series and Elite Series: Kylo Ren…
The Black Series: Chewbacca

The mighty Chewbacca. In six inch scale, that’s 7 and 3/4 inches of Wookiee. The Hasbro Black Series Chewbacca might not be perfect, but he’s still pretty neat.
As seen above, Chewie comes with bandoleer and bowcaster, but good luck getting the bowed part of the bowcaster to stay on. The piece pushes on to the front and doesn’t really have anything to hold on to, so it constantly falls off. I’ve given up trying to use it and I’m reluctant to glue it on. The Black Series: Scout Trooper

The Black Series six inch Scout Trooper is a two for one figure. Not only do you get the Scout Trooper, but you also get a speeder bike. With lots of articulation, this one is worth checking out.
The figure comes with only two accessories. His tiny blaster and a big speeder bike. Continue Reading The Black Series: Scout Trooper…

Judge me by my size, do you? Yoda may be the smallest figure in The Black Series 6 inch lineup, but he’s pretty cool. Below you’ll find our complete review of this diminutive yet awesome figure and with tons of pics.
The Black Series: Clone Trooper Sergeant

Hasbro’s six inch Black Series figures are not above repainting an existing figure for an easy money grab, and the Clone Trooper Sergeant is a good example of that. However, seeing that I have yet to see a regular Clone Trooper in stores, I picked this one up.
Black Series: ROTJ Luke

Return of the Jedi Luke is part of Wave 5 of Hasbro’s 6-inch Black Series figures. The slim figure comes in his ominous black clothes with just a lightsaber and an optional chest piece (to pull off the open tunic look). The initial figs that hit the pegs came with the usual array of paint apps, and none of them really caught my eye. However, I finally found one with a paint app that I liked, and this Luke followed me home.

Jabba the Hutt is one of my favorite Star Wars characters, and Hasbro has done a pretty good job at capturing the galactic gangster in all his slug-like beauty. Thus we present a toy review of the Hasbro Black Series 6-inch Jabba the Hutt with tons of pictures. Enjoy!

StarWars.com has unveiled the prototype Black Series 6-inch Boba Fett. Based on Ralph McQuarrie and Joe Johnston’s early concept designs, the new figure will be available this Fall. As reported earlier by Arnie from Star Wars Action News, this will be a Walgreens exclusive figure with pre-orders opening at San Diego Comic Con.

The Black Series: Improving Boba Fett
May 26, 2014 at 12:01 am | Posted in Star Wars, Toys & Collectibles | 1 CommentTags: boba fett, the black series
Of all The Black Series 6-inch scale figures, Boba Fett is easily one of the coolest and hardest to get. If you’ve read my review of the figure, though, you’ll know I was a little disappointed in the action figure. Bottom line, it was missing the “action” part as Boba Fett is one of the least articulated figures in the line aside from R2-D2. It’s not that the joints aren’t there. The problem is those hard plastic pouches on the front of his legs that prevent him from moving around. Ever since opening that first Fett figure, I’ve wanted to cut those stupid pouches off. So when I saw a Fett sitting on the shelves at Barnes & Noble, I picked him up with that purpose in mind. This would be my Boba 2.0.

Fett pre-surgery.
