Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Bombad Radio: Episode 185 is their first release from their trip to Salt Lake Comic Con FanX. In this episode they have interviews with Jess Harnell and Rob Paulson. They talk about doing voices, Animaniacs, and Jess mentions Rock Sugar. It’s funny because I’ve been listening to a lot of Rock Out Loud lately and Steve often mentions Rock Sugar, so I’ve grown familiar with the band. However, I forgot he also did the voice of Wakko. It’s also odd just how close Rob Paulson’s normal voice is to Yakko. Afterwards they talk with legendary comic artist Neal Adams who talks about Batman, Gotham, Green Arrow, X-Men and the comics industry. Really nice interview. Following that is an interview with Star Trek designer Jon Eaves who talks about working on the various films and tv shows. Then they have a great interview with Star Wars artist Dave Dorman who talks about getting his first gig with Star Wars, his latest work with Marvel on several comic cover variations, and the deal with Star Wars Celebration Anaheim (which Dave mentions there might still be a chance that he can go). Lots of great interviews making this an excellent episode to check out.

Coffee With Kenobi: Rebels Reactions “Idiot’s Array” episode features guest Dennis Keithly as they talk about the Star Wars Rebels episode, Lando’s presence, Hera’s prominent role, and the use of Lando as a divide and conquer mechanism to the crew which turns into a message of unity for them all to stick together. It’s a fun review of the episode.

Full of Sith: Tasia Valenza Special Release features an interview with the voice actress for Shaak Tii (and many more characters). First off, Tasia’s audio is superb, which makes this a great interview to listen to. She talks about switching from on camera acting to voice acting, working on Star Wars, doing conventions, working with Mark Hamill, thoughts on The Force Awakens and the excitement of seeing the original cast again on screen, and much more. Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Assembly of Geeks:Looking Back on Comic-Con & Looking Forward to the Quest” gives a recap of SDCC from the Wonder Woman reveal to the Flash pilot and everything else. Justin Cavender joins them to talk about being at the con and some of the panels. They also play some clips of interviews with the producers of The Quest, talk about Robert Downey Jr. doing Iron Man 4, Dwayne Johnson possibly being in Shazam, and the J.J. Abrams Force for Change video.

Big Pop Fun: Episode #104 features an excellent interview with legendary stuntman Ted White. Ted has some great stories. He talks about working with John Wayne, what he was like, being Wayne’s stuntman and doing movies like Rio Bravo and Hatari. In fact Ted has some pretty wild stories about Hatari. He also talks about actors Ben Johnson and Jeff Bridges, his work on Fast and the Furious, and training stuntmen. Excellent interview that provides some insight on Hollywood, stuntmen and some legendary actors.

Bombad Radio: Episode 158 features their interview with voice actor Bill Ratner. Let me just say that this one has some good stuff. Bill talks about doing narration, voice over, impressions, there’s lots of joking around and Bill is just a funny guy. He’s also a great storyteller. He talks about his work for the old G.I. Joe cartoon and his newer work like Mass Effect. It’s a very enjoyable episode and the kind of show anyone can listen to and have fun, no matter what your fandom. I recommend checking it out, it’s another one of Bombad Radio’s priceless interviews.

Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

501stCast: Episode 83 has some Star Wars news and rumors on Star Wars Episode VII, Phineas & Ferb, and the Lucas museum. The rest of the episode is devoted to troop reports. If you’re wanting to catch up on what the 501st Legion is up to, they’ve got you covered.

Bombad Radio: Episode 157 is a nice movie discussion show that stays spoiler free but interesting. Hosts James and Jeremiah are joined by guests Steve C. (Disney Infinity Cast, The Mousecast) and Adam D. (Drogemeister Blog, Blue Box) as they cover Godzilla, The Amazing Spiderman 2, The LEGO Movie, Transformers: Age of Extinction, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Edge of Tomorrow, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. From the best movies they’ve seen this year to the worst, and what they’re looking forward to next, they cover a lot of films.

Coffee with Kenobi: Coffee Chat with Mark Dodson is a good interview, though the audio can be pretty rough. The interview is courtesy of James Howell, unfortunately all of James’ side of the conversation is really crumby sounding, however Mark’s side of the audio is excellent. Mark talks about working as a laborer for Industrial Light & Magic, being fascinated with voice actors as a kid, doing all the voices for the gremlins in the movie Gremlins, and how doing the voice of Salacious Crumb got him that part. He covers how his audition for Ackbar led to Salacious Crumb, being an extra in Howard the Duck, and talks about tips for voice over. If you don’t mind the silent gaps and static riddled questions, Mark’s side of the conversation is well worth listening to.
