urlLet me start off by saying, overall, I enjoyed Man of Steel. It was well acted, had impressive visuals, an excellent score by Hans Zimmer, and was quite a fun ride. That being said, I went into this movie with an unfair expectation that – since the story was created by Christopher Nolan and produced by him – that it would be on par with Nolan’s Batman reboot, Batman Begins. In that respect, it wasn’t quite up there, and that damaged my view of the film

In book news, author Martha Wells has a great article on John Scalzi’s site which discusses the focus of her Books of the Raksura series and how it relates to her own life. If you’re thinking about diving into the series, the article gives a very nice overview of each book without spoiling anything. Martha will also be doing a book signing in Houston, Texas tomorrow from 3-4 PM at Murder by the Book.

Speaking of book signings, Jason Fry will be in Northvale, New Jersey tomorrow from 11-1 PM at Books and Greetings for DK Books.

Matthew Stover mentioned on Facebook that he’s currently working on no less than five novels, but the real question is: are any of them Star Wars?
