Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Blast Points: Episode 78 touches on Star Wars Battlefront II, Han Solo crew gear, then they dive into their main discussion – Star Wars on QVC. They talk about the content that was on the channel, the products, the callers, and Mark Hamill’s involvement complete with some audio clips. As someone who missed out on the whole QVC Star Wars thing, this was a fun episode.

Bombad Radio: Episode 280 is an interview with make-up artist Brian Sipe who talks about X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy, working with actors, the challenges with the make-up, and other movies he’s worked on. It’s a good interview. Afterwards there’s some general movie discussion. Good episode.

Brews and Blasters: Episode 123 features Joe and special guest host Matt Moore as they talk about home brewed gin, vodka’s of choice, heavy metal, Conan, Robert E. Howard, Lovecraft, how they got into comics, and then they get into Star Wars comics. They touch on the Han Solo mini-series, the Captain Phasma mini-series, Poe Dameron, the main title, Lando and Doctor Aphra. Fun episode. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…

Here’s this week’s Star Wars podcasts in review.

501stCast: Episode 77 catches up on all the news from the 501st Legion and includes an awesome interview with author Ryder Windham who talks about the Death Star Owner’s Technical Manual.

Bombad Radio: Episode 103 features audio from Salt Lake Comic Con 2013 and the Ray Park panel. Ray talks about playing Toad in the X-Men movies, Darth Maul, Snake Eyes and how he got started in Mortal Kombat Annihilation which actually led to his gig as Darth Maul. Really good audio and some nice comments from Ray who even touches on Star Wars Episode VII.

Episode 98 features more audio from Salt Lake Comic Con 2013, this time covering the William Shatner panel. I had initially passed this episode over in order to catch up with other podcasts, but when I finally got the chance to listen to it, I was thoroughly entertained. Shatner puts on a good show and his panel is pretty fun to listen to. Whether you’re a fan of Star Trek or not, it’s worth a listen.

We attended the fun at Planet Comicon in Kansas City, MO this years and I have to say, it was a blast. The two day event had a lot of guests including quite a few people from Star Wars. Geralyn and I browsed the con floor, talked with some of the celebrities and attended a few panels. For those who were not able to attend, you can find our coverage below. Today Roqoo Depot wishes a happy birthday to actor Ray Park, most famously known to Star Wars fan as Darth Maul. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Ray took to martial arts at a very young age starting with Northern Shaolin Kung Fu on his father’s advice. Later in life, he went to college to be an electrician like his father, but left in his third year in order to go to World Wushu Championships in China. The decision won him two gold medals and one silver. Concentrating on his martial arts skills, he came in at fourth place at the Martial Arts World Championships in Malaysia in 1993. He also took time to teach gymnastics and martial arts classes to students in London. Continue Reading Happy Birthday, Ray Park…
