Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.
Cloud City Casino: Episode 016 features Rich and Sarah from Skywalking Through Neverland as they talk about Disney Infinity 3.0. They talk about the characters, the game mechanics, unlocking features, gameplay, and even a little bit about Force Friday. Fun episode.
Comic Book Noob: Aquaman episode covers why Aquaman has such a bad reputation, and why it’s not deserved. The talk about his powers, his responsibilities, and why the character should be respected, plus their comic recommendations. As someone who is not very familiar with character, this was a great episode and it helped me get a better understanding on who Aquaman really is.
Comics With Kenobi: Issue #7 reviews Lando #4 and a has a great interview with Marvel Star Wars assistant editor Heather Antos. Worth checking out for the interview alone as Heather provides a neat look behind the scenes. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…

Book Review: ‘The Companions’ by R.A. Salvatore
August 6, 2013 at 7:45 am | Posted in Books, Fantasy, Reviews | Leave a commentTags: forgotten realms, r.a. salvatore, the companions, the sundering
The Companions kickstarts the The Sundering series and R.A. Salvatore steps away from the conventional fantasy story readers might expect. Rather than serving up a tale starring his famous Drizzt, this book star his companions: Cattie-brie, Bruenor and Regis. As my first foray into Salvatore’s Forgotten Realms material, The Companions was quite the adventure. Click here to read my full review.

New Release: ‘The Companions’ by R.A. Salvatore
August 6, 2013 at 12:00 am | Posted in Books, Fantasy | Leave a commentTags: forgotten realms, r.a. salvatore, the companions, the sundering
The Sundering begins today with the release of R.A. Salvatore’s novel The Companions. This is the first in a six book series set in the Forgotten Realms setting. Each book in The Sundering series revolves around an event that will change the Realms, thus giving each book a lose connection with the others without being direct tie-ins or a sequentially building story.
In The Companions, Drizzt’s fate hangs in the balance, and it is up to his companions to save him. While Drizzt doesn’t appear much in the book, his companions go on quite the journey as they are faced with trials and tribulations in the new lives that have been give to them.
The Companions is available in hardcover and digital formats. You can find product links here as well as a sample chapter.

The Sundering: Kemp, Denning, Salvatore and More!
August 18, 2012 at 12:30 pm | Posted in Books, Fantasy, News | 2 CommentsTags: ed greenwood, erin m. evans, forgotten realms, paul s. kemp, r.a. salvatore, richard lee byers, the adversary, the companions, the godborn, the herald, the reaver, the sentinel, the sundering, Troy Denning
One of the big announcements at Gen Con 2012 was the announcement of a new six book series that will change the world of the Forgotten Realms. The new series is being called The Sundering and will feature a different author for each book. The authors (in order) will include R. A. Salvatore (The Companions), Paul S. Kemp (The Godborn), Erin M. Evans (The Adversary), Richard Lee Byers (The Reaver), Troy Denning (The Sentinel), and Ed Greenwood (The Herald). Popular characters such as like Drizzt Do’Urden, Elminster, Drasek Riven, and Erevis cale will be appearing in the novels, as well as some new characters like Erevis Cale’s son, Vasen Cale.
For Denning fans this is big news since Troy hasn’t written a Forgotten Realms novel since The Sorcerer back in 2002. I’m really interested to see who the “old favorites” will be in The Sentinel.
As a huge Kemp fan, I’m glad that they revealed some new artwork of the characters which includes Erevis Cale, Drasek Riven, and Vasen Cale (Vasen Cale is crouching with the sword and shield, Erevis Cale is behind him bleeding shadowstuff, and Drasek Riven is second from the far right right). I’ve been looking forward to The Godborn and I can’t wait to see what Paul cooks up.
The Keynote Address also featured a cover gallery showcasing each book. You can watch the 2012 Gen Con Keynote Address below (book news starts around 34:00).

Former Star Wars author R.A. Salvatore has started a Q&A on Reddit. There he is taking questions on the new video game Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, as well as his long list of novels. So feel free to ask him about Drizzt or the infamous death of the might Chewbacca right here.
