Marvel has released their comic solicitations for January 2019. Here is the Star Wars rundown.
Star Wars: Age of Republic Special #1
Writers: Ethan Sacks, Jody Houser, Marc Guggenheim, and Chip Zdarsky
Artists: Carlos Gomez, Paolo Villanelli, and Caspar Wijngaard
Cover Artists: Rod Reis, Khoi Pham (variant cover), Mike Deodato (greatest hits variant), Mike McKone (puzzle piece variant)
THE GREATEST HEROES OF THE REPUBLIC, THE DEADLIEST VILLAINS – AND EVERYONE IN BETWEEN! Four creative teams! Four stories featuring your favorite Star Wars characters! The baddest Jedi in the galaxy has a score to settle — MACE WINDU returns in an action-packed adventure from OLD MAN HAWKEYE’S Ethan Sacks! You can run, but can you hide from the twin lightsabers of Sith assassin ASAJJ VENTRESS? Feel her fury in a tale expertly woven by veteran STAR WARS comic scribe Jody Houser (THRAWN, THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: RENEW YOUR VOWS). And is JAR JAR BINKS’ role in the Star Wars story over? NOT BY A LONG SHOT! Because Chip Zdarsky (PETER PARKER: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN and MARVEL TWO-IN-ONE) has a rancor bone to pick with the galaxy’s most notorious Gungan. You can take the clone out of the war but you can never take the war out of the clone — CAPTAIN REX dusts off his blaster and enters the fray in a story by X-MEN: GOLD author Marc Guggenheim.

Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Obi-Wan Kenobi
February 18, 2016 at 12:01 am | Posted in Reviews, Star Wars, Toys & Collectibles | Leave a commentTags: obi-wan kenobi, s.h. figuarts
There are a lot of toymakers jumping into the 6-inch scale Star Wars market, which means Hasbro has some serious competition. Unlike previous decades, they are no longer uncontested in the realm of Star Wars action figures. Of those stepping into the ring is S.H. Figuarts, a high quality action figure line made by Bandai. They’ve made a few figures so far, but the one that stole my eye was their Obi-Wan Kenobi. Quite simply, this is a gorgeous figure and an example of what toys can be when done right.

The Art of Obi-Wan Kenobi

For our final art gallery highlight for John Jackson Miller’s Kenobi, we are featuring the star of the book, Obi-Wan. From his beginnings as a young Jedi, to his exile on Tatooine, we present the art of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
The package is delivered.
I hope you can read my thoughts, Master Qui-Gon: I haven’t heard your voice since that day on Polis Massa, when Master Yoda told me I could commune with you through the Force. You’ll remember that we decided I should take Anakin’s son to his relatives for safekeeping. That mission is now accomplished.
If feels so strange, behing here, at this place and in this circumstance. Years ago, we removed one child from Tatooine, thinking him to be the galaxy’s greatest hope. Now I have returned one–with the same goal in mind. I hope it goes better this time. Because the path to this moment has been filled with pain. For the whole galaxy, for my friends–and for me.
I still can’t believe the Jedi Order is gone–and the Repbulic, corrupted and in the hands of Palaptine. And Anakin, corrupted as well. The holovids I saw of him slaughtering the Jedi younglings in the Temple still haunt my dreams…and shatter my heart into pieces, over and over again.
But after the horror of children’s deaths, a child may bring hope, as well. It’s as I said: the delivery is made. I’m standing on a ridge with my riding beast–a Tatooine eopie–looking back at the Lars homestead. Owen and Beru Lars are outside, holding the child. The last chapter is finished: a new one has begun. –Kenobi, prologue

The Clone Wars Season 4 might be over, but we’ve got a very special interview to help ease the waiting for Season 5. We interviewed James Arnold Taylor, the voice actor for Obi-Wan Kenobi. James was nice enough to do an audio interview, so we turned it into a cool little video. Not only does James answer our questions, he does some other awesome voices too!
You can also check out the trailer for James’ “Talking to Myself” one man show.

Sideshow Collectibles is kicking off a new line of Star Wars statues labeled Star Wars Mythos:
“This line of collectibles will be populated by characters from new and existing story lines. We will bring history, unique details and personal choices to each in order to elaborate on who they are. Through the design and sculpt process our goal is to delve deeper into these established characters and offer our own interpretations of what they have done outside of the Star Wars canon.”
They have a great site setup that shows some beautiful new artwork relating to each piece, cool little back stories, and the sneak peaks of the statues themselves. It’s suffice to say that these statues look AWESOME! Take a look below at some of the wonderful images and be sure to visit the site to real all the cool back stories written from different perspectives for each piece.
