Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review. Wee bit of toy focus in this one as I did some catching up.
Beltway Banthas: Interview: Jon Lovett of Pod Save America kicks off with Jon as they talk with him about Star Wars, Rogue One, politics, and The Last Jedi. He shares his thoughts on the movies, and they talk with him a bit on real world politics, as well as Star Wars politics. Fair warning if you listen with your kids, there was an F-bomb or two.
Podcast Network: RetroZap, Runtime: 40 minutes, Audio Quality: Excellent, Editing: Excellent, Hosts: Stephen, Swara, Rating: Good
Brews and Blasters: Episode 161 kicks off with snow, wine, steak tips, manicotti, and black light posters. When you go off on Star Wars black light posters, you know you’re in for a fun ride. They go over The Last Jedi Blu-ray a little, then Chris presents his sales pitch for the HasLab sail barge. If you haven’t backed it yet, Chris may very well sway you. They also talk about Toys R Us and toy stores, they touch on Forces of Destiny, the Jon Favreau news, speculation on next animated series, and George Lucas breaking ground for his museum. Great episode.
Podcast Network: Retrozap, Runtime: 1 hour 9 minutes, Audio Quality: Excellent, Editing: Excellent, Hosts: Joe, and Chris, Rating: Great
Children of the Force: Reaction Corps – Forces of Destiny S2 and Rebels Season Finale covers both shows. They kick off with Forces of Destiny as they go through each of the new episodes for season two, then 30 minutes in they switch up and talk Star Wars Rebels.

Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.
Blast Points: Episode 78 touches on Star Wars Battlefront II, Han Solo crew gear, then they dive into their main discussion – Star Wars on QVC. They talk about the content that was on the channel, the products, the callers, and Mark Hamill’s involvement complete with some audio clips. As someone who missed out on the whole QVC Star Wars thing, this was a fun episode.
Bombad Radio: Episode 280 is an interview with make-up artist Brian Sipe who talks about X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy, working with actors, the challenges with the make-up, and other movies he’s worked on. It’s a good interview. Afterwards there’s some general movie discussion. Good episode.
Brews and Blasters: Episode 123 features Joe and special guest host Matt Moore as they talk about home brewed gin, vodka’s of choice, heavy metal, Conan, Robert E. Howard, Lovecraft, how they got into comics, and then they get into Star Wars comics. They touch on the Han Solo mini-series, the Captain Phasma mini-series, Poe Dameron, the main title, Lando and Doctor Aphra. Fun episode. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…

Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.
Bombad Radio: Episode 215 features a great interview with Star Wars author Daniel Wallace. They talk to Dan about his work on the Star Wars essential guides, trivial pursuit, and his early days on the internet as well as his thoughts on why Superman is more relatable than Batman, and why the Spider Man rogues gallery is better than Batman’s. It’s a fun interview covering a lot of topics and offering some cool insight. If you’re a fan of Dan’s work, be sure to check this one out.
Brews and Blasters: Episode #43 is all over the place as usual, but a whole lot of fun as well. They bring up the interesting fact that “always two there are” is hardly ever right. They talk about Dooku being the cultured Sith, where we might have seen the Grand Inquisitor before, Hondo and the Star Wars Rebels episode “Brothers of the Broken Horn”, where are Wolf and Gregor?, is Jar Jar a Sith?, and they even touch on Battlefront: Twilight Company (don’t worry, no spoilers) and Captain Phasma toys. There’s a little bit of everything and a few laughs in between.
Comic Book Noob: Green Arrow episode covers the origins of the character and his left wing liberal nature, his parallels to Batman, the relation between the show and the comic, the character’s sense of humor, the characters of Felicity and Diggle, the team up between Green Lantern and Green Arrow, the lazarus pit, Constantine, and reading recommendations. If you’re looking to learn more about the Green Arrow and his comic book background, this is a great episode to check out. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…

Cloud City Casino: Episode 016 features Rich and Sarah from Skywalking Through Neverland as they talk about Disney Infinity 3.0. They talk about the characters, the game mechanics, unlocking features, gameplay, and even a little bit about Force Friday. Fun episode.
Comic Book Noob: Aquaman episode covers why Aquaman has such a bad reputation, and why it’s not deserved. The talk about his powers, his responsibilities, and why the character should be respected, plus their comic recommendations. As someone who is not very familiar with character, this was a great episode and it helped me get a better understanding on who Aquaman really is.
Comics With Kenobi: Issue #7 reviews Lando #4 and a has a great interview with Marvel Star Wars assistant editor Heather Antos. Worth checking out for the interview alone as Heather provides a neat look behind the scenes. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…

Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review with quite a few Star Wars authors for your listening enjoyment.
Bombad Radio: Episode 207 features an interview with Shannon Eric Denton as they talk comics, Airwolf and Star Wars. Eric has a pretty interesting story as he moved from being a comic artist, to an artist for animated shows, to being a writer. He’s a good guest and it’s a fun conversation. Worth checking out.
Coffee With Kenobi: Episode 43 is their pre-Force Friday show with some discussion on their collecting trips for Disney Infinity 3.0 figures. Their guests for this episode are Mike and Joao from The Cantina Cast as they dive into some meaty topics like Yoda, Obi-Wan, the chosen one prophecy and more. It’s an interesting discussion episode and good for any general Star Wars fan.
Fly Casual: Episode 55 is a news and rumors episode as they cover Star Wars #8, Kanan #5 and Lando #3. Then they head into Rogue One rumors, Kylo Ren rumors, a discussion on the length of the movie and whether one of the big 3 will die and which one. Overall, good show with the usual mix of humor, Star Wars geekdom and unpredictability. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…

Today we wish a happy birthday to one of our favorite authors, Michael A. Stackpole. Yes, his X-Wing series was awesome. His NJO books were awesome. But if you haven’t checked out his non-Star Wars books, you’re really missing out. If you’re ever looking for ideas, be sure to check out Mike’s website and his personal store. He often runs some pretty good deals. And don’t forget to wish Mike a happy birthday on Facebook and Twitter.
