  • Star Wars: Kenobi by John Jackson Miller has been nominated for the 2014 Scribe Awards Speculative Novel Original category.
  • The Dance Like A Monkey kickstarter is raising money to benefit author CJ Henderson. The anthology will include short stories by authors such as Timothy Zahn, Kevin J. Anderson, Rebecca Moesta, Michael A. Stackpole, and even Ed Greenwood.
  • Star Wars author Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff was interviewed as part of an article on religious themes in science fiction films. It’s kind of interesting and worth a look.

At the top of the headlines, the first special of LEGO’s The Yoda Chronicles will air May 29 on Cartoon Network and Teletoon at 6:30 PM EST. (via Star Wars The Underworld)

Author Aaron Allston was spotted out on safari. According to reports, he’s organized an ambitious expedition to capture the elusive chupacabra. Although there are rumors that it’s really Aaron Allston’s evil twin whose traveled here from another dimension to eliminate all his other selves who have been stealing his story ideas. Course of the Force details have been released for this year’s lightsaber relay along the California coast. Registration is also open if you plan on participating. The relay will start at Skywalker Ranch and end at San Diego Comic Con.

Star Wars Book Worms has a new episode out interviewing video game and comic writer Alexander Freed. Also in interview news, SciFiNow spoke with actor Ian McDiarmid discussing the possibility of more Palpatine.

To help celebrate the release of The Last Jedi, we took some time with co-author Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff to get a closer look at the fourth book in the Coruscant Nights series. The first half covers more general topics, while the second half delves into serious spoiler territory.

How did the story for The Last Jedi come about?

Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff: Michael had pitched an idea by email for a fourth Coruscant Nights book, and as we were working on Shadow Games (our previous collaboration) our editor, Shelly Shapiro, contacted us and said, “Hey, guys, would you like to do another novel? There was that story you pitched a bit ago, and we’d like you to write that book.”
