LEGO Star Wars TV Special, Star Wars: Detours, and Second Star Wars Cartoon Series Possible

Word comes from Slias Lesnik over at comingsoon.net that the photo below was spotted at Licensing International Expo 2011 currently underway at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas, NV. While details were sparse, it was hinted that there will be a LEGO Star Wars television special to air this fall.

Do. Want.

Quoted from comingsoon.net:

Based on the popular video game series, the LEGO TV special is being created in addition to a second, previously announced Star Wars cartoon series. That new series has been given the following official update:

Today, George Lucas is hard at work on a second animated series that will complement ‘The Clone Wars’, taking ‘Star Wars’ in a completely new and fun direction

On CNN George Lucas also talked about working on a new show he called Detours.

“Now I’m working on television shows. Clone Wars and another show called Star Wars: Detours and it just gives me the chance to be creative in a lot different fields, in a lot of different ways and enjoy myself.”

That’s all he said, so we’re left to speculate whether this is the actual title of the long-awaited TV series, or if this is the Seth Green comedy animated series.

The goal of any video game is entertainment, and Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars does that well. Building upon the work of its predecessors, Lego Star Wars III has an improved graphics engine and a whole host of new features to keep gamers satisfied. However, perhaps the biggest question on everyone’s mind is whether the magic that worked with turning the Star Wars films into Lego worlds would work as well with The Clone Wars television show: the answer is yes.

Lego Star Wars III: First Impressions

Reek in action.

Lego Star Wars III is a game riding on the success of Lego Star Wars: The Video Game and Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy which managed to make a game that is irresistibly fun for Star Wars fans of all ages. However, with all of the films covered, and the game designers setting their sights on the Clone Wars, I wondered to myself if they could actually pull it off again or if this one would lose its shine. Thus far this third entry into the Star Wars Lego series has proved to be far better than what’s come before it.

First off the game started with an absolute bang that’s hard to top. The gamer is thrust into the Battle of Geonosis right smack dab in the middle of the arena switching between Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Padme as they escape from the pillars they’re chained to. From that point you find yourself quickly subduing the raging reek. That’s when you realize that this is easily the most fun you’ve had in a Star Wars game since abusing the Force in The Force Unleashed. Continue Reading Lego Star Wars III: First Impressions…
