RebelForce Radio put together an outstanding episode this week with a Kenobi roundtable featuring Jimmy Mac, special co-host Steve Glosson from Geek Out Loud, Star Wars books editor Erich Schoeneweiss and the voice of Obi-Wan, James Arnold Taylor. They dive into Kenobi while keeping the discussion relatively spoiler free so everyone can listen in and enjoy. As if that wasn’t enough in itself, Jimmy and Jason also interview the audiobook narrator for Kenobi, Jonathan Davis, and James Arnold Taylor does a new meditation excerpt from the book. Really nice coverage all around and a top notch job from RebelForce Radio for putting it together. You can listen in here on Facebook or on Shotglass Digital.

Here is this week’s podcasts in review.

All Wings Report In: Episode IX covers a little bit of Star Wars news and lots of updates for the Rebel Legion. For their discussion segment, they have a nice talk with Bob Barker (not the Price as Right Bob Barker) about the Keep Dark Horse Making Star Wars Comics movement. With good audio quality and production value, this is certainly a good podcast to listen to for keeping up to date with the Legion.

Assembly of Geeks: Episode 9/10/2013 covers a lot of ground in a fun format. With hosts Scott Murray (Merchman), Tricia Barr (Fangirl), and Jeff McGee (Admiral 80s), they cover geek news while a doing a little roleplay and presenting the podcast as if from a superhero headquarters complete with robot sidekick GANNIN. In this episode, they talk with Jeremiah from Bombad Radio about the latest Star Wars news, Justin Cavender about Marvel news, and they have an interview with Kenobi author John Jackson Miller. Plus they talk summer movies (warning, there are Star Trek Into Darkness spoilers) and Ben Affleck as Batman. Some nice discussion and worth checking out.

This was probably one of the best live chats I’ve seen yet. In fact John answered so many questions that he was banned from Facebook.

John Jackson Miller: Glad to be here! Happy to talk about things Kenobi and Star Wars in general. (Hoping to keep things relatively spoiler free — for more spoiler-y kinds of questions, I suggest posting to this thread on my website, where I’ll be addressing the more detailed questions later on: http://blog.farawaypress.com/…)

Hi John, I’m a big fan of your work. Are we ever going to see Zayne Carrick again?

JJM: It’s a big galaxy, and he’s still around, so anything’s possible. It was many years between X-Wing novels and another one happened. So we’ll see!

Hollywood.com Interviews the Kenobi’s

Hollywood.com has posted an interview with Kenobi author John Jackson Miller and Kenobi voice actor James Arnold Taylor.

James, at the start of the novel what would you say is Obi-Wan’s mindset?

James Arnold Taylor: One of the things that’s been so great for me in playing this mythical character for so many years is that throughout the series of The Clone Wars I had to put myself in the mindset of “He does not know what’s going to happen.” He does not know that Anakin’s going to fall, and in Kenobi he actually thinks that Anakin is dead. His belief is that Anakin’s gone, and he did what he had to do. Even though I haven’t voiced him much after the events of Revenge of the Sith, it goes so much deeper than I think most people think.
