Del Rey has just revealed the cover and title for the next Rogue One tie-in novel: Bor Gullet Strikes Back! The book will be written by New York Times bestselling author John Jackson Miller with a 2017 Fall release. The full synopsis will be revealed at Star Wars Celebration, but they have released a short description to give fans an idea of what to expect.

After narrowly escaping the Death Star’s attack on Jedha City, Saw Gerrera’s chief enforcer, Bor Gullet, has taken on the mantle of leading the survivors of Saw’s rebel cell. Backed by ferocious warriors like Moroff the merciless, the terrifying Edrio Two Tubes and the wicked Weeteef, they’re ready to strike back at the Empire to avenge the deaths of their brethren. But what they don’t realize is that the Empire is already on the hunt and they’ve enlisted the help of Inferno Squadron.

As revealed in the description from StarWars.com, this will be a direct follow-up novel to Christie Golden’s Inferno Squadron, which will be following the Imperial’s side of things. This also marks the first duology of the new canon which they’re calling Rogue Cells. With Bor Gullet Gullet hype being at an all time high right now, this announcement makes a lot of sense and is a perfect fit in the timeline.

Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Awards Chatter: Viggo Mortensen interview is a good one. Viggo talks about his parents, his childhood, being born in Manhattan but raised in Argentina, returning to America, the influence of his mother’s love in movies, how he eventually got into acting, his early roles and missed opportunities like Platoon, and of course filming Lord of the Rings. They also cover his latest film Captain Fantastic. Great interview and one you don’t want to miss.

Awards Chatter: Ryan Reynolds interview is pretty neat as it details the long journey that eventually led to the Deadpool movie. He talks about going from Canada and kid’s soap operas to Hollywood and films. I had no idea how deeply invested Ryan was in the idea of a Deadpool movie, nor did I realize that he wrote the script and had shopped it around for years in trying to get the film made. If you’re a Deadpool fan, you’ll definitely want to check this one out. And even if you’re not, Ryan talks about the various films he’s worked on, going from smaller films to big films, and what happened with Green Lantern.

Beltway Banthas: Episode 21 dives into politics with cabinet news, Mark Hamill reading Trump quotes in Joker voice, and they’re joined by guest Dennis Keithly from Starships Sabers and Scoundrels as they discuss the Separatists. The audio is a little tinny in this episode but the discussion on the Separatists is pretty good. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…

Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review. Lots of Rogue One discussion episodes, some better than others.

Assembly of Geeks: Rogue One Reviews starts with some discussion on Gotham City Sirens and a Deadshot movie, then they move into their reviews of Rogue One with guest Dan Zehr (Coffee With Kenobi). While there’s no love for Bor Gullet or Saw, they do discuss the things they liked as well as the things they didn’t like, what they wanted, the CGI, possible plot holes and ranking it.

Bantha Fodder: Episode 15 is a Christmas special as they do their own version of “Twas A Night Before Christmas” but Rogue One themed. Worth a listen.

Bombad Radio: Episode 264 features James, Jeremiah, Jason and author Adam Bray as they talk Rogue One including expectations, the things they liked, disliked and listener feedback. Good episode. Note there’s more listener reviews at the end of the episode so when the main discussion ends and you hear someone else speaking, that’s what’s going on. It threw me off guard at first as I though maybe a different podcast had started playing, but it’s just a listener review. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…

The Jackal’s Trick by John Jackson Miller is out today in paperback and digital formats. This is the second book in his Star Trek: Prey trilogy and it’s just as good as the first. Click here to read our full review.

Continuing the milestone 50th anniversary celebration of Star Trek—an epic new trilogy that stretches from the events of The Original Series movie The Search for Spock to The Next Generation!

The Klingon-Federation alliance is in peril as never before. Lord Korgh has seized control of the House of Kruge, executing a plot one hundred years in the making. The Klingon cult known as the Unsung rampages across the stars, striking from the shadows in their cloaked Birds-of-Prey. And the mysterious figure known as Buxtus Cross launches a scheme that will transform the Klingon Empire forever.

Into danger flies Admiral William T. Riker and the USS Titan, charged with protecting the peace forged nearly a century before during the Khitomer Accords. Aided by Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the USS Enterprise, Riker and his officers scour the stars, seeking to find the Unsung and uncover the truth behind the conspiracy before time runs out.

Yet even as Commander Worf departs on a deeply personal mission of honor, hidden sinister forces seek to turn the crisis to their advantage. And the conspirators’ plans threaten to spiral out of control, jeopardizing the very empire they aspire to rule.
