There are a lot of Star Wars podcasts out there, and I listen to a few, so I thought fans might be interested in a combination podcasts review/roundup. Expect this to be a periodic column, and be sure to let us know what Star Wars podcasts you’re interested in.
Bombad Radio: Episode 76 is a must hear podcast for The Clone Wars fans as it includes a great interview with voice actor Tom Kane. Tom performed a few voices, from Yoda and Yularen to his absolutely perfect Morgan Freeman. It also delves into some details on a Yoda arc Tom worked on for The Clone Wars Season 6 which we may or may never see. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…

A lot of Star Wars news came out of New York Comic Con 2011, especially with the comic announcements from Dark Horse.
Blood Ties will be getting a new arc with a very startling name: Boba Fett is Dead. The series originally kicked off with the 4 issue miniseries A Tale of Jango and Boba Fett, written by Tom Taylor and with interior and exterior art done by Chris Scalf. Both will be back on board for Blood Ties: Boba Fett is Dead which will launch in April 2012. No news yet on how long the series will be, but you can check out the blurb and cover here.
Darth Vader: The Ghost Prison will be coming out in May 2012 as a 5 issue miniseries. Haden Blackman, who wrote for Darth Vader and the Lost Command miniseries, will once again be writing for Vader along with artist Agustin Alessio. You can read the blurb here as well as an interview Haden did with Newsarama for the new series.
Dawn of the Jedi was a big announcement and according to Dark Horse Comics Vice President of Publishing Randy Stradely, this project has been in the works since 2003. Dawn of the Jedi will take place 25,000 years before the Battle of Yavin, before Jedi, Sith, and even lightsabers (and don’t let the picture fool you, John assures us that it’s not a lightsaber). This will be an age where a group called the Je’daii live on the planet Tython, gathered there by strange, flying, pyramid ships made of stone. Among their number are humans, Dathomiri witches, and even Sith (okay, so maybe there are Sith, but these are the red skinned kind, not the philosophical order). John Ostrander will be writing the series with Jan Duursema doing the artwork. The dynamic duo that brought us the Legacy series share a lot of details in this interview with CBR and you can check out the blurb as well. Dawn of the Jedi #0, which will serve as a guide for the new series, will be out February 1, 2012, and Dawn of the Jedi: Force Storm #1 will kick off the series on February 15, 2012.
Knights of the Old Republic is coming back with Knights of the Old Republic: War (for the record, John said he did indeed get the idea for the name from the Legacy: War series). John Jackson Miller will once again be writing the continuing journey of Zayne Carrick and will have the help of artist Andrea Mutti. The series will be launched on January 11, 2012. You can check out the blurb, details, cover, and even a sample page here.
Knights Errant: Escape will be the next arc in the Kerra Holt’s ongoing series. John Jackson Miller will be writing along with a new art team: penciller Marco Castiello and inker Vincenzo Acunzo. The 5 issue arc will be release in June 2012. You can check out the blurb and details here.
