Martha Wells’ Book Giveaways

There are two book giveaways going on right now for Marth Wells’ novels. First up, Young Adult Books Central has an international giveaway for five copies of Emilie & the Hollow World (which ends in 12 days).
The other contest is being run by Goodreads and is also for five copies but this time for The Siren Depths (end in 23 days). Both are great books so be sure to post your entries.

To kick things off, how about some reassuring news regarding Dark Horse Comics and Star Wars. According to Bleeding Cool, Star Wars will be with Dark Horse Comics for the entirety of 2014.
They will continue to make Darth Vader miniseries, Star Wars Legacy will remain an ongoing book and will alternate between artists every six issues and the mini-series based on George Lucas’ original drafts, The Star Wars, will have a radically different logo to differentiate it.

Angry Robot Books/Strange Chemistry revealed the cover for Martha Wells’ new book Emilie & the Hollow World.
While running away from home for reasons that are eminently defensible, Emilie’s plans to stow away on the steamship Merry Bell and reach her cousin in the big city go awry, landing her on the wrong ship and at the beginning of a fantastic adventure. Taken under the protection of Lady Marlende, Emilie learns that the crew hopes to use the aether currents and an experimental engine, and with the assistance of Lord Engal, journey to the interior of the planet in search of Marlende’s missing father. With the ship damaged on arrival, they attempt to traverse the strange lands on their quest. But when evidence points to sabotage and they encounter the treacherous Lord Ivers, along with the strange races of the sea-lands, Emilie has to make some challenging decisions and take daring action if they are ever to reach the surface world again.
Emilie & the Hollow World will be out in April 2013.
