Black Spire by Delilah S. Dawson is out today in hardcover, digital and audiobook formats.
Walk the ancient streets, meet the colorful characters, and uncover the secret history of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the new expansion to the Disney Parks experience!
After devastating losses at the hands of the First Order, General Leia Organa has dispatched her agents across the galaxy in search of allies, sanctuary, and firepower—and her top spy, Vi Moradi, may have just found all three, on a secluded world at the galaxy’s edge.
A planet of lush forests, precarious mountains, and towering, petrified trees, Batuu is on the furthest possible frontier of the galactic map, the last settled world before the mysterious expanse of Wild Space. The rogues, smugglers, and adventurers who eke out a living on the largest settlement on the planet, Black Spire Outpost, are here to avoid prying eyes and unnecessary complications. Vi, a Resistance spy on the run from the First Order, is hardly a welcome guest. And when a shuttle full of stormtroopers lands in her wake, determined to root her out, she has no idea where to find help.
To survive, Vi will have to seek out the good-hearted heroes hiding in a world that redefines scum and villainy. With the help of a traitorous trooper and her acerbic droid, she begins to gather a colorful band of outcasts and misfits, and embarks on a mission to spark the fire of resistance on Batuu—before the First Order snuffs it out entirely.

On Station At Celebration: Day 2

It’s day two of Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017 and here’s our recap.
With the line chaos of day one, I decided I’d try something completely different on day two. Instead of getting up early to hit the convention center right when they opened in the morning, I waited till around 6:30 AM. By that time, the line outside was only two blocks lock, pretty close to yesterday’s size when I lined up early. The security check went much faster as they had more gates open to transfer people through. Continue Reading On Station At Celebration: Day 2…

Here is this week’s Around the Web news roundup of Star Wars and beyond.
Book News
- This one is beyond Star Wars, but written by Star Wars authors. Kevin Hearne and Delilah S. Dawson will be teaming up to write a book called Kill The Farm Boy which will be published by Del Rey. It’s quite the tongue and cheek title, and given the authors involved, this one will probably be a lot of fun. Here’s the project in Kevin’s own words…
About a year ago my buddy Delilah S. Dawson and I were killing an hour in the Dallas airport and we came up with an idea for messing with fantasy tropes in a humorous fashion. KILL THE FARM BOY was born. Had to file it away for a while and enjoy some tacos. But a couple months ago, because of, you know, THE WORLD, we needed something lighthearted to work on as therapy. So we started writing a proposal. We outlined the book and wrote five sample chapters that made us both laugh. We also came up with ideas for a couple more books.
And what do you know? Del Rey thought they were funny too and said we can go ahead and write them! So that’s coming, friends. KILL THE FARM BOY will be out next year. Delilah and I are taking turns writing chapters while we also work on our solo projects.
I think y’all are going to dig it. We’re laughing out loud as we do this.
- In Star Wars book news, Amazon now has a look at the cover for Star Wars: On the Frontlines by Daniel Wallace.
- Author Paul S. Kemp has posted his short story “Continuum” online for free. This story connects Shadowstorm and Shadowrealm., books two and three of The Twilight War.
