As more Jedi—Obi-Wan included!—and clone trooper reinforcements arrive to take Savage Opress and the crooked mine owner into custody, Darth Maul convinces the locals that the Jedi are in league with the mine owner who exploited them. If the Jedi fight the natives, they’ll be killing innocents. If they don’t, they’ll be killed themselves! It’s the perfect distraction for Maul to find and release his brother!

CBR Interview with Tom Taylor

Comic Book Resources posted an interview last week with Star Wars comic writer Tom Taylor. The interview covers his upcoming mini-series Darth Maul: Death Sentence with some nice plot details.
As to which Jedi are on the scene for this book, Taylor said there will be a mix of big guns and fresh faces. “Most of the big guys will make an appearance, including Mace Windu and Yoda, but we’ll also be meeting two Jedi we’ve never met before, the lightsaber-pike wielding alien Judd, and female Jedi Salmara,” the writer said. “There is also a young Padawan by the name of Dray, which will mean something to anyone who has read ‘Star Wars: Invasion.’ It’s great to go back and add to the character of Dray. In the pages of ‘Invasion,’ Dray is absolutely insane and always quick to open his mouth to say whatever he’s thinking. Here, he’s not so insane but his mouth still runs freely.”
Click here to read the full interview. There are also a couple page previews you can check out.
Something else worth pointing out, Tom mention that he and artist Christ Scalf pitched an idea for a new Luke Skywalker comic to Randy Stradley. Now we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
