Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.
Blast Points: Episode 80 starts off with the news, the George Lucas museum approval, autograph issue, D23, and Forces of Destiny. Then they discuss the game Rebel Assault 2 which leads to a very fun discussion. Great episode.
Blast Points: Episode 82 covers the D23 news on Star Wars land, then they digest the behind the scenes sizzler trailer for The Last Jedi. There’s lots of Star Wars love in this discussion, and a little lunacy as they go crazy for the new aliens, lobsters and sizzler references. Great episode.
Coffee With Kenobi: Episode 75 features guest hosts Randy Therio and Jay Krebs as they talk teaching with Star Wars and Forces of Destiny. Jason Ward also joins them to weigh in on the Forces of Destiny discussion. They also talk about the Star Wars card game and table top games with Tom, and SDCC Star Wars exclusives. Capping the episode off, Dan has some audio from a conversation he had with Jason and Jimmy Mac at Star Wars Celebration. Good episode. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…

Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.
Blast Points: Episode 67 covers the first Star Wars documentary, The Making of Star Wars. From their conspiracy theory to how it could be canon, to audio clips and fun observations, they cover the commentary and keep it entertaining and informative. Great episode.
Blast Points: Episode 68 starts out with some excitement for Star Wars Celebration Orlando as they talk wardrobes and mental prepping. Then they rundown the convention history of Star Wars. From the first convention in 1976, to what could be called Celebration Zero, and then going through some of the official Star Wars Celebrations. They cover what led up to the event, and their memories of the first ones they went to. Fun episode. They cap off with some final tips for those heading to Celebration.
Bombad Radio: Episode 274 covers news. Star Wars Celebration, Mass Effect: Andromeda, movie news, DC movie updates, upcoming Batman movies and more for a bunch of Star War and non-Star Wars topics. Good episode. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…

Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.
Assembly of Geeks: Star Wars Spin-Offs Beyond 2020 starts with news, DC comic sales, they talk video game movies, then head into Star Wars spin-off film ideas like Boba Fett, Kenobi, Yoda and Ahsoka. That and more in this episode, pretty good.
Blast Points: Episode 41 kicks off with some Bendu impersonations as they get into the groove of the new season of Star Wars Rebels. But before they get into the season premiere, they cover some news, the Star Wars 2020 comments, the composer change up for Rogue One, Moroff and Pao, and the credit change for Filoni. Then they get into Rebels as they talk about Hondo and his Ugnaught crew, the Bendu, the similarity to the end of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and more. Fun episode as always, but with the AC/DC soundbyte, I have to give them high praise. It is my favorite band after all, so hats off to good taste.
Blast Points: Episode 42 starts with news as they talk about the final Rogue One trailer, some new info on Rogue One creatures and characters, plus some other rumors, speculation and news on Sabine and Maul. Then they talk about Star Wars toy releases. They have on guest Kile Moore as they talk Force Friday, play some audio clips from standing in line with fans, and compare this year to last year. Some good discussion. The conversations with fellow fans really added a nice touch. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…

Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.
Aggressive Negotiations: Issue 024 discusses the importance of the inclusion of Saw Gerrera in Rogue One, what led to this, and what it might mean for future storytelling. Interestingly enough, they actually don’t talk too much about Saw the character or the Star Wars: The Clone Wars episodes he was in. It’s mainly focused on the decision of using him rather than him as a character.
Assembly of Geeks: Ghostbusters Reboot, Thrawn Reborn & Indy Revitalized starts with their thoughts on the new Ghostbusters film, they cover some news, then head into SWCE and the announcement of Thrawn, and wrap up with Indy, The Secret Life of Pets, and Stranger Things. Good episode.
Beltway Banthas: Star Wars Celebration Roundup features Swara Salih who represented them for SWCE and brought back some fun audio including conversations with Bryan Young (Full of Sith) and Riley Blanton (The Star Wars Report). The hosts also dive into some discussion about the lack of a title for Episode VIII. Fun episode. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…

Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.
Blabba the Hutt: Episode #19 is their Star Wars Rebels season two finale roundtable episode. Jamie and Kate are joined by friends Gary, Matt and Rod as they discuss the episode. With four Irish guys and just one girl, it’s not the most diverse roundtable, but it’s okay. I think the regular episodes have a lot better dynamic between just Jamie and Kate. The roundtable isn’t a bad idea, but it might benefit from a different selection of guests.
Blast Points: Episode 12 covers some Episode VIII rumor/leaks/news like Luke being in a casino, they talk about Donnie Yen’s Instagram account, Rogue One speculation, Star Wars Rebels “Mystery at Chopper Base” thoughts, Gary Whitta writing more Star Wars Rebels episodes, who’s Rey, her role/destiny and the importance of Kenobi, and a deep dive into Rey’s vision as they analyze the audio with a complete breakdown of both left, center, front right, etc audio channels. Very interesting as you can pick up a lot of stuff you wouldn’t ordinarily catch.
Blast Points: Episode 15 is a special mini-episode devoted to the Rogue One trailer as they talk about Mon Mothma, the droid character, the lack of Mads, the tone and more as they go through it scene-by-scene. Funny episode with some good observations. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…

Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.
Bombad Radio: Episode 215 features a great interview with Star Wars author Daniel Wallace. They talk to Dan about his work on the Star Wars essential guides, trivial pursuit, and his early days on the internet as well as his thoughts on why Superman is more relatable than Batman, and why the Spider Man rogues gallery is better than Batman’s. It’s a fun interview covering a lot of topics and offering some cool insight. If you’re a fan of Dan’s work, be sure to check this one out.
Brews and Blasters: Episode #43 is all over the place as usual, but a whole lot of fun as well. They bring up the interesting fact that “always two there are” is hardly ever right. They talk about Dooku being the cultured Sith, where we might have seen the Grand Inquisitor before, Hondo and the Star Wars Rebels episode “Brothers of the Broken Horn”, where are Wolf and Gregor?, is Jar Jar a Sith?, and they even touch on Battlefront: Twilight Company (don’t worry, no spoilers) and Captain Phasma toys. There’s a little bit of everything and a few laughs in between.
Comic Book Noob: Green Arrow episode covers the origins of the character and his left wing liberal nature, his parallels to Batman, the relation between the show and the comic, the character’s sense of humor, the characters of Felicity and Diggle, the team up between Green Lantern and Green Arrow, the lazarus pit, Constantine, and reading recommendations. If you’re looking to learn more about the Green Arrow and his comic book background, this is a great episode to check out. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…

Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.
Comic Book Noob: The Atom covers the super hero’s Golden Age and Silver Age origins, the ties to the The Flash and Arrow tv shows, how he’s powered by white dwarf matter, the female version–Atomica–who I’ve read but didn’t realize it in Forever Evil, plus they give their suggestions on where to start in comics. Once again another good episode that’s both informative and entertaining. I highly recommend checking these out if you have an interest in comics and superheroes.
Comics With Kenobi: Issue #4 has a review of Star Wars #7, the Obi-Wan standalone issue, Kanan – The Last Padawan #4, and their top five favorite Star Wars: Tales stories from Dark Horse Comics. Lots of great discussion with a deep and heartfelt appreciation for the comics medium. Now, as for my favorite Star Wars: Tales stories, the first to come to mind are “Fett Club”, which is absolutely hilarious, and “Fortune, Fate, and the Natural History of the Sarlacc” with it’s gorgeous artwork by Kellie Strom. Oddly enough, I’m not a big fan of “Into the Great Unknown”.
Fly Casual: Episode 50 opens with a Disney chat. Mike talks about riding Star Tours during his recent trip to Disney World, they cover the news with Bob Iger being very happy with the cut of the film he’s seen so far, Simon Pegg talking Star Wars, Carrie Fisher writing another book, Gary Whitta talking Star Wars, new casting for Rogue One, and Senator Jebel. Changing gears, they talk about coming around to the new Star Wars books and comics, their picks for worst Star Wars books ever, and they do a Tarkin bite of the week since Cory isn’t in this episode (and the Tarkin bit was pretty good). Rounding out the episode, they do their toy coverage with the SDCC First Order trooper selling out in five minutes online and they’re experiences trying to buy it, the boost in Slave Leia sales since the controversy, the 18 foot Falcon, stores clearing out of Star Wars figures in preparation for Force Friday and new product and where to get good deals. While there was no Cory in this episode, it was still as funny as ever. It actually turned out really good with lots of laughs, on topic discussion and plenty of useful Star Wars info.

Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.
Bombad Radio: Episode 190 features an interview with writer and editor Stuart Moore who talks about E.G.O.S., Zodiac and Marvel’s Civil War. I really liked the comments he had about Zodiac and what it was like working with Stan Lee on that project. Very cool interview.
Episode 191 kicks off with some Star Wars news, then heads into their Star Wars Rebels discussion as they talk about the their initial thoughts heading into the show, their thoughts on season one, and how it compares to The Clone Wars. They do delve into spoilers, but I think most fans at this point have already watched all of season one, so enjoy.
Fangirls Going Rogue: Episode #17 starts with a Star Wars Rebels season finale discussion, dives into some listener feedback, features a quick Oscar discussion, and some more fashion tips from Amy Ratcliffe on customizing accessories. They also have an interview with Jennifer Landa about her Star Wars wedding, and this episode’s character discussion focuses on Leia. Great episode as always, with a really nice balance of topics in this one. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…
