And here’s the news…

George Lucas made an interesting headline this week with his appearance on CBS This Morning announcing that he’s going to start a museum (didn’t we all here Indy yelling “It belongs in a museum!”). You can check out the video here.

In the better late than never category, Chronicle Books had a nice write up on the making of the cover for Vader’s Little Princess. Written by Jeffrey Brown, who also did Vader and Son, Vader’s Little Princess will be out on April 23rd.

In non-Star Wars movie news, Harrison Ford is doing Anchor Man 2 alongside Will Ferrell; Christian Bale and Christopher Nolan are rumored to be in for Justice League; and Iron Man 3 has new trailers and movie posters out.

If you missed out on the Star Wars panel at Emerald City Comic Con (which featured Randy Stradley, Brian Wood, Corinna Bechko and Gabriel Hardman), you can check out the full video of the panel here. Continue Reading Around the Web…

Star Wars #1From Dark Horse Comics:

JANUARY 25, MILWAUKIE, OR—The critically acclaimed and highly anticipated Star Wars #1, written by Brian Wood, has officially sold out of its second printing before the release of issue #2!

This all-new Star Wars series is set in the time period of the original trilogy, directly following the events of Episode IV: A New Hope, and features the franchise’s best-loved characters, as told by Brian Wood (X-MenDMZ, Conan the Barbarian, The Massive), with art from Carlos D’Anda (Batman: Arkham City). This is Star Wars as you remember it . . . and as you have never seen it before! Dark Horse is taking you back to those heady, adventure-filled days following the destruction of the Death Star—when the Empire ruled, the Rebels were on the run, and the galaxy was a dangerous place where anything might happen!

Westfield Comics Interviews Brian Wood

November 6, 2012 at 1:32 pm | Posted in Comic Books, Dark Horse, Interview | Leave a comment

Westfield Comics Blog posted an interview with Star Wars comic writer Brian Wood covering the new on-going series from Dark Horse Comics.

What can readers look forward to in the series?

Brian Wood: A lot of X-Wing action, lots of dogfights and deep space scenes, lots of spectacle and tension, but not without the quiet moments… I feel that it’s that blend of the two that makes Star Wars work.

While everyone else at Star Wars Celebration VI headed off to the Mark Hamill panel, me and a few dozen others went to the Star Wars University room for One Writer’s Approach to Star Wars. The panel featured Dark Horse Comics Editor Randy Stradley and upcoming Star Wars comic writer Brian Wood, with a special appearance by Lucasfilm/LucasBooks Senior Editor Jennifer Heddle in the audience. I was able to record the audio for the panel, so enjoy!

on-station-at-celebrationThe fun continues with Day 2 at Star Wars Celebration VI, and today was quite eventful. First a quick rundown: Del Rey panel, Detours panel, signing with Randy Stradley and Doug Wheatley, Allston panel, Chris Reiff and Chris Trevas signing, Jan Duursema signing, Denning panel, and the Dark Horse panel with Brian Wood and Randy Stradley. With so much going on, it was hard to pick in choose, but I’m certainly glad I went to the panels that I did.

The Del Rey panel was loaded with announcements as most of you are probably already aware of. Here’s some of the highlights. Continue Reading On Station At Celebration: Day 2…
