Happy Birthday, Barbara Hambly and Vonda N. McIntyre

Today we wish a happy birthday to Star Wars authors Barbara Hambly and Vonda N. McIntyre. Both wrote during the Bantam era and each contributed their own piece to the Expanded Universe. Vonda with Waru in The Crystal Star, and Barbara with Callista in Children of Jedi, and the droch in Planet of Twilight.

Happy Birthday, Barbara Hambly and Vonda N. McIntyre

Today Roqoo Depot sends out two happy birthday greetings to Barbara Hambly and Vonda N. McIntyre, both Star Wars authors during the Bantam period and surprisingly born on the same day (though different years).

Barbara Hambly wrote two Star Wars novels: Children of the Jedi, and Planet of Twilight. She also wrote several short stories including Nightlily: The Lover’s Tale, Taster’s Choice: The Tale of Jabba’s Chef, and Murder in Slushtime. Born in San Diego, CA, Barbara would go on to get a Masters degree in Medieval History. Her first published novel was Time of the Dark. In order to facilitate her writing career, she often took jobs that allowed her to write including jobs as a high school teacher, model, waitress, technical editor, all-night liquor store clerk, and Shotokan karate instructor.
