Rumors out of NYCC have it that the back cover of Apocalypse features Jaina and Jag.  Since this is not an official announcement we won’t be posting what we’re sure is a clandestine photo.  But we have seen it, and it does look authentic to us.

As soon as the official image is released we’ll be sure and post it here.

TOR.com confirmed that the back cover image for Apocalypse does indeed feature Jag and Jaina.

UPDATE: Star Wars Books posted that “We also showed the original APOCALYPSE back cover in which Jag sports an X-wing pilot uniform and Jaina is sans lightsaber.” Hopefully we’ll have some images soon.

Paul S. Kemp posted on his website today a reminder that his upcoming book Star Wars: Riptide will be out in just  few weeks along with his new short story “A Fair Trade” in the next edition of Star Wars Insider. And for those Star Wars fans who haven’t pre-ordered Riptide yet, Paul is offering to mail signed copies of the novel for just $11 dollars to any fans who are interested (international fans will have to pay $6 for the novel and whatever the international shipping amounts to). This is a great opportunity to get a signed novel so don’t miss out. You can check out the full details here.

Star Wars Books has also updated their Facebook page with a few details concerning upcoming releases. First off they revealed that an early copy of the Star Wars: Millennium Falcon Owner’s Workshop Manual will be on hand at the Del Rey Star Wars booth at the New York City Comic Con for fans to look at. NYCC takes place October 13-16 at the Javits Convention Center in New York, NY. Star Wars Books also stated that we’ll be seeing some online preview shots of interior pages soon.

They also shared the news that the manuscript for Troy Denning’s Fate of the Jedi: Apocalypse is in. With this news comes the possibility of some future excerpts in the very near future. It’s a long wait till April, so enjoy the announcement and eager anticipation.

A new blurb for Troy Denning’s FotJ: Apocalypse has been found!  It sounds epic:

There can be no surrender.
There will be no mercy.
It’s not just the future of the galaxy at stake—
It’s the destiny of the Force.

In the stunning finale of the epic Fate of the Jedi series, Jedi and Sith face off—with Coruscant as their battlefield. For the Sith, it’s the chance to restore their dominance over the galaxy that forgot them for so long. For Abeloth, it’s a giant step in her quest to conquer all life everywhere. For Luke Skywalker, it’s a call to arms to eradicate the Sith and their monstrous new master once and for all.

In a planetwide strike, teams of Jedi Knights take the Sith infiltrators by swift and lethal surprise. But victory against the cunning and savage Abeloth, and the terrifying endgame she has planned, is anything but certain. And as Luke, Ben, Han, Leia, Jaina, Jag, and their allies close in, the devastating truth about the dark side incarnate will be exposed—and send shock waves through the Jedi Order, the galaxy, and the Force itself.

Sounds pretty exciting if you ask me!!

Wild Theory of the Day: Abeloth on the cover of Apocalypse?

When StarWars.com unveiled the cover of Troy Denning’s Fate of the Jedi: Apocalypse many fans were a little deflated that Luke Skywalker was on another cover. Some fans quickly rallied once they realized Luke was on the first (Outcast) and middle (Allies) covers, thus creating a nice harmony for the series as a whole. However, after further examination it’s been noticed that half of Luke’s face appears strange on Apocalypse. The left side of Luke’s face (from his perspective) actually appears to have some scars or wounds on the cheek and his eye looks swollen or…dare I say it…moon like. The other side of his face is also peculiar in the fact that he looks so youthful. All of these facts have swayed me to the opinion that Luke is not on the cover of Apocalypse. I think the being on the cover of Apocalypse is really Abeloth and that she is impersonating Luke, hence the reason he looks so youthful as well as the reason we see the possible glimpse of her moon eyes and maybe, just maybe the hint of a tentacle curled in shadow across her left cheek.

Take a closer look at the image and let us know what you think. Apocalypse may have a big surprise in store for us.
