Have you ever wondered what’s involved in the making of a comic book? What does a colorist or inker do? In an effort to better understand how comic books are made, I took a close at the Star Wars Knight Errant comic series and conducted an interview with Star Wars writer John Jackson Miller. In the interview I was able to get a better idea of how the various creators work together in the modern age of comics, and more specifically I was able to get a really good look at the writer’s role in creating a comic book. It is always sad to see the end of a good series, luckily Aflame #5 is only the end of an arc. In this final issue of Aflame, the first thing that struck me was how much the art had improved from issue four. Not only was the art better, but the story continued into its final climax for an excellent conclusion…

Knight Errant: Aflame #4 was an odd mix of both good and bad art and a strong running story. Continuing the storyline from the previous issue, Aflame #4 brings action, suspense, tension, and character development. However, the art work is a very mixed bag. Most of the panels were fine, but some suffered from odd illustrations of the human characters. The ups and downs in the art had a significant effect on the issue…
