Lady Mechanika: The Tablet of Destinies No. 6 wraps up the second arc of the series with a solid finish. Mechanika and Anika square off against the Germans. With an ancient weapon of mass destruction and Winifred at stake, it’s all on the line. It’s just two women against a flying airship full of bad guys. No problem.
From the ruins to the jungle, the landscapes bring a beauty to the panels. The characters are exquisite. The action meticulously laid out. Even the borders for the panels push the boundaries with their lavish, mechanical design. It’s a feast for the eyes.
What’s even more fun is seeing Lady Mechanika and Anika in action. They’re a devastating duo. It’s funny how Anika keeps score as she takes down her opponents as the competitive nature reminded me of Gimli and Legolas in Lord of the Rings doing the same thing. Amping up the action is a surprise the Germans have in store for the main characters. You see, they’re not really Germans. Instead, they’re something much more interesting.
By the end of the issue, the plot threads are all wrapped up. It’s a satisfying conclusion to yet another arc. The only bad thing about this issue is the long wait for spring and a new arc.
With great artwork and an entertaining story, Lady Mechanika: The Tablet of Destinies No. 6 finishes this arc with another five out of five metal bikinis giving it a flawless finish. I highly recommend checking this one out. It’s great stuff, and the series as a whole is very impressive.
