The Last Jedi #3 goes from the scene with the porgs in the cockpit with Chewie to the hut explosion with Rey, Kylo and Luke. There’s a lot of big moments in this one, and while there are some things that are different, it’s nothing game changing.

The issue kicks off with Rey and Kylo having another Force chat. It crams in the entirety of Canto Bight from Finn and Rose’s landing to their departure with DJ. Luke teaches Rey her second lesson, he and Kylo both tell their versions of past events that caused the split between them, and there’s the shirtless Kylo Force chat. Rey goes into the mirror cave, Luke reaches out to Leia, which is a nice moment with some extra narration, and everything ends with Luke blowing up Rey’s hut while here and Kylo are touching fingers.

There really isn’t a lot extra in this issue. Some of the dialog and scenes are tweaked, and there’s some extra narration from Luke, but mostly everything is the same. The artwork is still very much in line with a newspaper comic strip as far as style. All in all, it’s an okay comic, but as an adaptation, it really doesn’t offer anything that justifies going out and buying this.

I give it a two out of five metal bikinis.
