The storylines continue to crawl forward in Star Wars #72 and the writing doesn’t get any better.
To be honest, there’s a lot of writing issues in this comic. For starters, Vader doesn’t recognize C-3PO, the droid her personally made and lived with for years. The dialog is also a bit odd as the bombs apparently talk to Chewbacca, which isn’t made very clear at first. It’s also not clear what 3PO said to the Stone Elders or why Vader was so gullible as to think the elders had a droid. Elsewhere, Luke is about the dumbest we’ve ever seen him in any Star Wars media ever. He’s so dumb and gullible that Warba steal his lightsaber, finally. On Lanz Carpo, we learn Han can’t dance and somehow Dar has a better plan that’s barely any different from Leia’s. Plus Han gets captured. It’s a lackluster story on all fronts.
The artwork continues to be good, but it’s still not enough to make up for the weak writing.
Overall, I give this one a two out of five metal bikinis.
