Rey and Pals

Rey and Pals is the latest Star Wars book from artist Jeffrey Brown with 64 pages of new artwork and humor featuring characters and scenes from The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. As usual, it’s a very family friendly book perfect for parents who need something to share with their kids. It’s also something Star Wars parents can appreciate as well.

The book features some great artwork throughout. There’s simple pages with just white backgrounds focusing on the characters and funny situations as well as full color background scenes and even some big two page spreads. There’s lots of detail in the images with Jeffrey Brown applying his own unique art style to look of all the characters. The rich coloring adds a lot of life to the pictures.

The target audience is definitely for younger kids and with the rich imagery and simple text, it’s a good one for beginning readers or a night time story to tuck the kids in to. It’s certainly a great book for parents who want to share some Star Wars with their kids. As for a purely adult audience, it’s a quick read and cute, but it’s really geared toward parents and sharing it with your children.

If you’ve checked out Jeffrey Brown’s previous Star Wars books, you’ll know what to expect with this one as it shares the same format and content. The artwork is great and it has some good family friendly humor making it perfect for your kids. If you have young kids who are into Star Wars, or who you would like to introduce to Star Wars, this is a great option. I give it a four out of five baby nexus.
