Begun, the Force Wars have. After years of speculation we are finally finding out what happened during the Force Wars. Tython has been attacked by the Rakata and the Je’Daii are leading the defense.  After the break you can find out what Chelsea and I thought of the newest issue of Dawn of the Jedi!

Chelsea: So, this issue was definitely worth the wait. The battle was interesting, but that’s more Cory’s thing. I personally enjoyed all of, what I consider, foreshadowing of what is to come.

Cory: I loved the whole issue as well, but I noticed all the little foreshadowing during the battle as well.  As a long time player of The Old Republic it was amazing to see the origin of the Flesh Raiders. It’s also interesting that the story jumped ahead a full year. Reading the issue makes it almost play out like seeing the first movie, there’s all this back story that we haven’t seen about the war but it doesn’t slow down the issue it makes it play out much better.  Now we don’t have to see all the build up to the Je’Daii preparing for the battle, they’re just in it.  But Sek ‘Nos doesn’t feel the same way as everyone else, he thinks they are using too much of the Dark side.

Chelsea: Foreshadowing! I think that seeing Sek’ Nos having an issue with using too much from the Dark Side, is giving us an insider to another origin. The Sith. Not the race of the Sith, but the Sith who are essentially married to the Dark Side of the Force. Also, I think his little fling, or whatever it is, with Trill will help push him completely over. Honestly, I forgot about Trill until I saw her in the issue. Which means they haven’t figured her out yet. But Xesh knows… He knows that he has a deep connection with her, but having lost most of his memory from being a Force Hound, he can’t put his finger on how he knows her, or why he feels connected to her.

Cory: Exactly, and I feel that he won’t figure out who or what she is until it’s too late.  But there’s more than one love story going on in this issue.  We also have Daegan Lok who seems completely and utterly within his element during this war.  Now while I think he will ultimately lead the Je’Daii to victory I believe the cost will be too high for some of the other members of the Order.  And then there’s Chelsea’s favorite love connection Xesh and Shae.

Chelsea: Thank you for bringing that up! Here’s where I’m at my best: love stories. Did anyone else catch the ‘almost kiss’ between Xesh and Shae? Shae played the ‘coy card’ and moved away. She ran off to get some food, and clean up, and whatever. Basically, the ‘gotta go wash my hair’ excuse of women today. There’s been some tension between Xesh and Shae before, but I think soon it will all come to a head, although, I’m not sure how. Possibly with a kiss, one of the two critically injured or dying, Trill getting in the way like the manipulator she is? And on a side note, when did she become Sek’ Nos’s healer of all manly ailments? There’s a word for women like her, but I’ll keep this PG. Before I get too long winded, I’ll just say this: The issue was great, I loved it, and I can’t wait for the next installment!

Cory: That’s a very cool theory you have cooking there about Trill, and time will tell.  I agree about the issue though. It had everything we both enjoy about Star Wars, complicated love stories, epic battles, foreshadowing and behind the scenes posturing by both sides to further the war front.  With out a doubt we give this issue 5 out of 5 brass bikinis!!
