Predator: Life and Death #4 wraps up the Predator storyline in order to kick off into Prometheus and the engineers. There’s some action as the marines battle the predators, and ultimately they make their escape from the planet with the alien ship under their control. But as with the way things are looking, they’re jumping out of the frying pan and into the fryer.

This issue keeps things simple as the marines get split into two groups. One group winds up inside the alien ship and gets control of the vessel. Enough so that they are able to actually fly it off of the planet. The other group of marines also makes their escape as their mission is over. Both teams engage a few more predators, take their losses, and escape. There’s a little bit of plot development with the characters and with the story. With things moving off planet and away from the predators, the landscape is changing. The new threat is the engineer on board the alien vessel.

The artwork in this issue takes a bit of a dip as it regresses into a lot of plain, heavily shadowed artwork. There’s not a lot of detail and even the big splash panels don’t offer much to be lingered upon. It’s provides enough visuals to go along with the story, but it’s not much more than that.

Predator: Life and Death #4 is a quick read. It pushes the story forward, but there’s not a lot to linger on with either the story or the artwork. I give it a three out of five metal bikinis.
