Poe Dameron #24 puts Terex in a deadly game between the Resistance and the First Order. He has something they both want, Lor San Tekka, and in order to get what he wants, he has to evade and manipulate both sides to his full advantage. It’s time to say goodbye to the implants.

The issue opens with Poe bemoaning the current state of his starfighter. He doesn’t have long to fret over it as Leia quickly calls a meeting. She activates Black Squadron and puts them on standbye to launch at a moment’s notice as soon as they have the coordinates of where Terex is at. You see, she placed a tracker on the ship. Unfortunately for her, Terex is one step ahead. He ditches the tracker and makes contact with Phasma. At that point, it’s all about manipulating the First Order to get what he wants. He gets the implant removed. He ensures his safe escape from their clutches and retribution. He even negotiates for a suite of First Order stormtrooper armor. All in exchange for the location of Lor San Tekka. However, he then does something puzzling and intriguing. He offers the coordinates to the Resistance as well. In his own words, he’ll get something out of it no matter what the outcome. Either the First Order will die, or the Resistance, or both.

Bringing the story to life is Angel Unzueta and Arif Prianto. Together, they do a great job on the visuals. There’s lots of detail, great character likenesses, and the texture, color and lighting effects are top notch. Some of the panels go out of their way to show off the artwork. Thus the story provides some excellent visual enjoyment.

With great artwork and a good story, I give Poe Dameron #24 a four out of five metal bikinis. It’s nice having Terex back on his A-game.
