Galaxy’s Edge #4 shows off the new tread speeder the First Order will have in The Rise of Skywalker, and includes some Hondo and Doctor Aphra. Aphra gets the flashback while things heat up in the present with Dok-Ondar, Hondo, the First Order, and the thieves.

The flashback focuses on Aphra and a little trip she made with Dok-Ondar to the ancient Sith homeworld of Moraband. Aphra goes all evil Indiana Jones as she robs a Sith temple with help from BT. There’s lot of backstabbing, but Dok gets the drop on Triple Zero. It doesn’t do anything new with the characters, but it has some fun with them. The issue ends in Dok-Ondar’s shop in the present with Kendoh and her thieves trying to steal the sword, and the First Order surrounding the shop. There’s only one issue left to see what happens.

The art is pretty good. It’s a slightly different take on Aphra, but it seems like every artist does that. There’s lots of detail and good coloring and lighting. There was one thing that was a little odd. The art actually showcases Triple Zeroe’s butt in two panels. Not sure anyone wanted to see that, but the artist went and did it.

The inclusion of the new First Order speeder is kind of a throwaway thing, and the story doesn’t really do anything essential for the lore of Star Wars, but it’s a fun little romp with good artwork. It’s not essential reading, but it’s something you might find interesting. I give it a four out of five metal bikinis.
