“We are a team..a badass criminal crew looking for our piece of the American dream..we are the Rogues of Central City.”
Rogues Rebellion #6 wraps up the story with a well layered issue. There’s action. There’s drama. There’s tension. There’s more Rogues, more laughs and most importantly, more fun.
The issue starts off with an interesting character focus on the Pied Piper, then shifts to the massive battle at hand. Grodd and his small legion of villains engage the Rogues for a battle for Central City. The artwork dances between the moods of the story. There are light-hearted, fun panels and serious dramatic scenes. Throughout, there’s lots of colors keeping the art vibrant, interesting and alive, while action dominates almost every page.
The story covers some very nice emotions. At one point, it’s an all-hope-is-lost, battle-to-the-death finale. There’s an extreme two page spread of Weather Wizard blasting Grodd and his cronies into a massive mirror–the artwork splashed with dazzling streaks of color–a real feast for the eyes. And then there’s the wrap-up: hope, victory and defiance. It’s a great way to end the issue.
With excellent artwork and storytelling, I give Forever Evil: Rogues Rebellion #6 a five out of five metal bikinis. This is a fine example of a comic, and I highly recommend giving it a try if you haven’t checked out the series yet. With great art, story and characters, Rogues Rebellion is worth your time.
