The action hits in Chewbacca #2 as they storm the mines to free the slaves. But can one Wookiee do it alone? Chewie certainly gives it a try. All he has to do is watch out for the exploding larvae.

The issue starts with Chewie and Zarro scouting out the mine. Zarro has a simple plan. She lets herself be captured while Chewie climbs in through the vents and pulls everyone out at night. Unfortunately Zarro’s father and his friends don’t listen to the plan and get into a bunch of trouble. Thus plan B.

There’s not a lot to the story, but it has its moments. There’s a scene where Zarro watches Chewie take out a bunch of guards with glee on her face and the shadows of the action depicted on the wall. There’s a flashback scene of Chewie being captured by slavers. And one of my favorites is Chewbacca using a power droid as a weapon. They’re all great moments and highlights of the issue.

The artwork is solid throughout. There’s no point where panels take a drop in quality. Instead, they’re all good with vibrant colors and a nice style. The linework is crisp, the panels do a great job of depicting the characters and action, and there’s some innovative use of a tracking map.

Overall, Chewbacca #2 is a good comic. It’s not great, but not everything has to be. The artwork is good, the story is fun, and it’s an enjoyable read. I give it a four out of five metal bikinis.
