Allegiance #3 slows down a bit as the action continues and we near the end of the stories at play. On one hand, the negotiations on Mon Cala are not going well. On the other hand, though, Poe and Finn have almost finished their mission off.

On Mon Cala, the bad guy Quarren drudges up some ancient rite by challenge to get rid of Leia and her pleas for assistance. Rey, being a wee bit impatient to fight in this miniseries, gladly takes up the challenge only to find out the Quarren is using a giant battle droid as his proxy. Definitely a cheap move. Furthermore, the battle doesn’t go as planned as Rey has some trouble defeating the droid. It starts attacking the onlookers and Rose interferes which causes them to lose the challenge. The king, playing the part of the dense, obtuse leader, refuses to see what’s really going on and just exiles Leia and her friends. Back on the moon, Finn comes up with a plan to deal with the bounty hunters and does a pretty good job of evading and taking them out. Meanwhile, Poe loads up with the weapons they came for.

Still on point, the artwork continues to shine in this issue with good visuals all around.

With good artwork and a good story, Allegiance #3 continues to do a good job. I give this one a four out of five metal bikinis.
