That said, issue 144 kicks off with a recap from Star Wars Celebration Europe II including…

  • The announcement of John Williams to score Star Wars Episode VII (and Insider does skirt the whole “is he scoring just Episode VII or the whole trilogy” by stating that John Williams will be scoring Episode VII specifically, but they also say he’ll be scoring the “Sequel Trilogy”).
  • A quick rundown of the Star Wars Rebels panel with a few pictures of the concept art.
  • Some short Q&A’s with Anthony Daniels, Ian McDiarmid, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher.
  • Plus the details on the Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 5 Blu-ray release and the complete five season box set.

There are plenty of interviews in this month’s Insider as well. Continue Reading Inside ‘Star Wars Insider 144’…

Star Wars Insider 142 will be hitting newsstands this month and has already hit subscriber’s mailboxes. Inside the latest Insider is a short story by Star Wars author Christie Golden called “Good Hunting.” The story stars Jaina Solo, Tenel Ka Djo and Allana. Complementing the story are some nice illustrations by Joe Corroney.

The basis of the story is that Jaina and Tenel Ka decide they need a vacation. Allana ends up talking them into a camping trip so they can train Anji how to hunt. This leads them to the planet Luuhar, a planet in the Hapes Cluster that is a nature reserve. What they don’t know is that there is a secret waiting for them deep in the forest of Luuhar. All in all, it’s a quick story with lightsaber and Anji action. It was also kind of nice to see Jaina and Tenel Ka working together. Fans of Jaina, Tenel Ka and Anji will definitely want to check this one out. Continue Reading “Good Hunting” by Christie Golden…

The latest edition of Star Wars Insider includes “Heist”, a short story by Timothy Zahn that precludes the events of his upcoming novel, Scoundrels. Like Winner Lose All, this story features a few of the scoundrels, in this case it’s just Tavia and Bink Kitik. In “Heist”, the twin sisters work a con on a wealthy individual named Christoff. The heist takes place on a starliner cruise, and while brief, it does help introduced the new characters. Bink is a bit of a troublemaker, while her sister Tavia is the more ethical one. Tavia is also good with electronics.

If you don’t have a subscription to Star Wars Insider but would still like to check out Timothy Zahn’s new short story “Heist”, then don’t forget that you can use the Zinio Digital Magazines’ previewer. Follow the link, click on the cover of Star Wars Inisder 138, and flip through the magazine to page 48. Remember, you only get three zoom ups, so use them wisely. It’s just enough to check out the new story and the artwork by Brian Rood.
