Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the second adult film novelization in the canon written by Alexander Freed and released in December of 2016.

If you’ve read my previous novelization review of The Force Awakens, you know that novelizations have a high bar with me. In fact, unless it’s something I’m really interested in, I usually skip novelizations in media tie-in fiction because they rarely add anything of value and if they do, it’s nominal. There are very few novelizations that appeal to me, and most do not.

Max Reebo’s pick this week is “Lighten Up” by Brothers Osborne.

Brothers Osborne released a new album last month called Skeletons, and one of my favorite songs from it is “Lighten Up.” Enjoy!

Retro Reviews: ‘Catalyst’ by James Luceno

Catalyst by James Luceno is an adult canon book released in November of 2016. It is one of the tie-in books to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and it follows the characters of Galen and Lyra Erso, Orson Krennic, and Has Obitt.

I remember in 2016 when I was just getting into Star Wars books that my parents allowed me to go the day of release to the local bookstore to snatch up my copy of Catalyst. I was incredibly excited for Rogue One, and this book was really hyped online.

Max Reebo’s Pick of the Week: 6 Feet

October 26, 2020 at 2:19 am | Posted in Max Reebo Pick of the Week, Music, Regular Feature | Leave a comment

This week’s pick is “6 Feet” by Red Shahan.

I found this one last week while searching for new music. I’ve been on a bit of a county kick lately, and I’ve been mining the soundtrack for the show Yellowstone. Well that led me to Red Shahan.

“6 Feet” is off his new album Culberson County. To date, he’s only released two albums. So far I’ve only listened to the new one, but there’s some good songs on it, and if you like country, it’s worth checking out.

Ahsoka by E. K. Johnston, is a young adult novel in the canon that was released in October of 2016.

This book has an interesting place in my heart, because I had already started reading Star Wars books in 2016, but this was the first book that I bought on release day and read in a 24 hour period of time.

After reading Queen’s Shadow and Queen’s Peril, I was disappointed with E. K. Johnston’s writing as a whole. When I realized I’d have to reread Ahsoka, I was afraid I wouldn’t like it now as much as I did back in 2016.

I was wrong.
