Abrams tries to get people to think of charity, but utterly fails by distracting everyone with the awesome visual of an extremely weathered starfighter that is not an X-wing. Announced on StarWars.com today, the long rumored Academy Award Winner Lupita Nyong’o and Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie will be joining the cast of Star Wars Episode VII! There have been reports since the initial announcement of the new cast that there were still major roles yet to be filled, and well, it looks like that has now been the case!

In this link from a StarWars.com tweet it confirms filming will begin in May and the following tidbit:
It has also been confirmed that Star Wars: Episode VII is set about 30 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, and will star a trio of new young leads along with some very familiar faces. No further details on casting or plot are available at this time.
So a trio of new young stars and around 30 years after RotJ!! Let the speculation begin!!

Star Wars Episode VII Update

First off, the script has been completed, and secondly, filming will begin in May. The news comes out of the Television Critics Association summer press tour and via The Wrap. Abrams also confirmed that he spoke with Breaking Bad actor Jesse Plemons. Their article is worth checking out as they have several quotes from Abrams. Meanwhile USA Today is reporting the May filming news.
