Book Review: ‘Revenant’ by Alex White

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Revenant is a standalone novel by Alex White that takes place during the fourth season of DS9 and was released by Gallery Books in December of 2021.

My short review can be summed up in one sentence: If you like Jadzia Dax, or even just the character of Dax in general, then you’ll LOVE this book.

This was my first foray into a specifically Deep Space Nine book, and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was afraid about breaking into books from this series, as DS9 is my least favorite of the Berman series and as a whole didn’t hold my attention. I picked up this book as part of my goal to read every new Star Trek novel and because it was a standalone DS9 story, which seemed like a better place to start than anything in the post-Nemesis continuity.

Review: Darth Vader and Son 2022 Wall Calendar

I’ve never reviewed a calendar before, so here goes. Chronicle Books sent me a 2022 calendar featuring the beautiful artwork of Darth Vader and his kids by the talented Jeffrey Brown. If you’re a fan of the Darth Vader and Son books, this is a great calendar option for next year.

Each month features a large size print of Jeffrey Brown’s Star Wars artwork. They’re great reproductions as each of them are pieces that have appeared in his Star Wars books. The calendar is done on nice thick paper. Each month is easy to read and features all the holidays and then some.

Overall, it’s a nice calendar and it looks great hanging on the wall. Unlike a lot of calendars, this one will be perfect for Star Wars fans, especially if you have kids. So if you need a last minute gift, or you just need to pick up a calendar for the new year, this one is a perfect option. Five out of five.

Star Trek: Coda: Oblivion’s Gate is the third and final novel in the Coda trilogy, which was written by David Mack and was released in November of 2021.

Twenty years of Star Trek literature has led to this. Titan, DS9, Voyager, Aventine, Next Generation, Mirror Universe, Section 31, and more have contributed to what we have known as the Lit-Verse or Post-Nemesis line of Star Trek novels. We all knew it was coming to an end in this trilogy, and thus knew to gird our feelings…

…but did we know it would feel like this?
