Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Blast Points: Episode 131 covers Episode IX news and rumors, Mark Hamill’s beard, Kylo’s beard rumor, and then they get to their main discussion which focuses on the relationship and connections between Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. They talk about their friendship, their collaborations, how they met, how George screen the first Star Wars film for Spielberg, their connections to Kathleen Kennedy, Lawrence Kasdan and J.J. Abrams, various crossovers and run-ins between their projects, Spielberg’s involvement in Revenge of the Sith and the sequel era. Cool discussion.

Bright Tree Radio: Episode 33 they go over the standalone movie rumors, then they discuss the seven deadly sins and see who in Star Wars falls into each one. Kind of an interesting discussion as I’ve never heard anyone do this before. They go through each of the seven sins, and see which characters are guilty of them. From bounty hunters and greed, to Krennic and envy. Good stuff. They wrap up with a mini segment on which Star Wars film they would get rid of.

Bright Tree Radio: Episode 34 they talk about what they’ve been up to, then get into crazy Episode IX theories. From The Last Jedi being a dream, to broom boy and Rey hooking up, they get into some wild ones. Snoke Force projections, Phasma surviving, good guy Hux, Chiss alliances, and triple agent Kylo all get brought up. They wrap up with a mini segment on how to make a character hotter. Fun episode.

Coffee With Kenobi: Episode 131 the audio is definitely an issue in this one, so you may or may not want to endure through the audio issues. The biggest problem is the audio for their guest, Jim Hill, who talks about Disney and Galaxy’s Edge provided lots of great info, but his audio breaks up a lot. It gets really bad, clears up a bit, then gets bad again. It’s pretty rough. Afterwards Tom steps in to cover the news going over SDCC exclusives, and the Star Wars: The Clone Wars panel. There’s some TCW discussion, they talk about The Last Jedi being on Netflix now, and cover an excerpt for Thrawn: Alliances and the alternate cover.

Grand Moff Talkin’: Episode 56 is a bit different than normal as they start out talking music, and not Star Wars music. In fact it takes a while before the conversation turns to Star Wars as they talk about various bands and online music critics. Then they switch gears to movies as they talk about James Cameron, franchise magic, Disney being more concerned with critically acclaimed Star Wars films rather than commercially acclaimed, filling the time gaps in Star Wars, Filoni and plans for Star Wars Rebels characters, TV shows, the Mad Men craze, super hero movies, DC’s dark serious focus, Marvel vs Star Wars, and other stuff. So it starts off with no Star Wars discussion, then transitions to an alternating smorgasbord of Star Wars and non-Star Wars topics. Fun discussions throughout, whether it’s Star Wars or not.
