Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Blast Points: Episode 129 Jason and Gabe talk about their trip to Ace Comic Con and play the audio from their two panels. First up, Weird Star Wars which includes the Richard Pryor special, The Holiday Special, Turkish Star Wars, Japanese George Lucas commercials, The George Lucas Super Live Adventure, and more. The second panel has the audience doing trivia from the Rusty Miller quiz book, with a commtech chip bonus round. Not too bad of an episode to listen to, but I bet it would have been really fun to be there.

DorkLair: Episode 46 goes over what they’ve been up to, then they rundown some toy news covering Sideshow Yoda, Hot Toys Captain America, Super7 Alien Hammerhead, BeastWars, Voltron, Terminator, Jurassic Park, and then they review the S.H. Figuarts old Ben Kenobi. They go over the different hoods, articulation, accessories and paint application. Great review of the figure.

They also talk about the issues with Val’s sacrifice in Solo, and they talk about who they would like to meet at Galaxy’s Edge. Good episode with lots of good topics and good guests.

The go into more detail with some than others, touching on the planets history, geography, and significance. Depending on your level of Star Wars knowledge, you might learn a thing or two.

Nice discussion overall. This episode is primarily a Solo movie discussion, so if that’s what you’re looking for, give this one a shot.

Making Tracks: Episode 4 goes over Billy Dee being in Episode IX, Marc talks with Star Wars sculptor Martin Rezard, and Aidan Cook (Benthic in Rogue One), Dave talks about his porg cosplay, they go over the standalone movie rumors, then Mark talks with Andrew Jack who has been a dialect coach on a lot of movies, including Star Wars, and plays the character Major Ematt. Great little interview there. I’d actually like to hear more from him, especially on his work with the alien dialog.

Skywalking Through Neverland: Episode 218 features guest Dave Parfitt as they go over this day in history stuff, Pixar Pier, and Ant-Man and the Wasp. They do get into spoilers as they go over their initial thoughts on the movie, what they liked, and what they didn’t like. They also discuss the mid credit scene, the press conference and they have some audio clips from that. Very Pixar and Ant-Man/Wasp based. Great episode.

Star Wars 7×7: Episode 1454 goes over seven reasons why Solo needs a sequel. Like always, a nice short format Star Wars podcast that gets you a quick dose of Star Wars that’s high quality and worth a listen. I’m always amazed that Allen is able to come up with a new topic of discussion for every day of the year and make each and every one a good one.

The Skyhoppers Podcast: Episode CII they talk about lots of stuff in this episode. From Star Wars: The Clone Wars (characters, Plo Koon, Yoda, The Lost Missions), to Attack of the Clones, Yoda’s lightsaber fight, choreography of Star Wars fights, the prequels, the sequels, and being able to like and dislike Star Wars movies. Good episode with lots of variety.

Toy Run: Episode 114 was recorded live from the Washington State Toy and Geek Fest and features guests Jordan Hembrough (Toy Hunter) and Tiya Sircar (Sabine). First they talk with Jordan about Toys R Us going out of business, and then they talk with Tiya about her action figures and Toys R Us. They talk about pop up stores, brick and mortar outlets and online retailers, and Jordan talks about Toy Hunter, Star Wars Celebration, and prototypes. Good episode with some interesting conversations with the guests, but not the best audio quality since it’s a live panel show. Not too bad though.
