Comics With Kenobi: Episode 53 kicks off with Jeff talking a little bit about The Last Jedi digital release, then they review Thrawn #2 and Darth Vader #13. There were some weird audio issues for the Thrawn #2 review section where they were talking over each other. Not sure if that was an audio overlap issue in editing or not. Second half was fine, though when they covered Darth Vader #13.

Geek Culture Spotlight: The For The Win Project kicks off a new podcast over at the Assembly of Geeks network. This episode puts the spotlight on the For The Win Project which is an organization that helps kids become super heroes by giving them super hero posters featuring them and setting up interactions with their heroes. Hosted by Scott Murray, Scott talks with the creators of the For The Win Project, Jesse Wilson and Jaimie Trueblood. They talk about how the organization came about, what they do, how they help kids, how they met at a photo shoot for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, their goal to allow kids to be their super heroes, and celebrity involvement with their project. I hadn’t heard of this organization before, but it was neat hearing what they do. Worth a listen.

Going Solo: Episode 1 kicks off a seven part mini-series of podcasts focused on Solo, each hosted by Marc from Talk Star Wars. This one in particular was recorded right after the teaser trailer dropped, so Marc goes over his thoughts on the movie based on that, and some of his initial speculation. Good episode.

Podcast Network: Star Wars CommonwealthRuntime: 17 minutes, Audio Quality: Excellent, Editing: Excellent, Host: Marc, Rating: Good

Going Solo: Episode 2 continues the discussion of Solo by diving even deeper into speculation and a breakdown of the movie. Marc dives pretty thoroughly into how he thinks the movie could play out based one what we’ve seen of the film, some released details, and pure conjecture. Personally, I think I’m going to stop listening to these as it’s getting deeper into the movie and speculation than I want to go. A little speculation can be fun, but I’d rather not think too much about what might happen less it creates some false hopes or ruins some surprise. However, if deep dives into what could be are your thing, then you might want to check these out. They’re well done and their great thoughts, but I’m going to try and go into Solo without too much forethought on what might be.

Podcast Network: Star Wars CommonwealthRuntime: 22 minutes, Audio Quality: Excellent, Editing: Excellent, Host: Marc, Rating: Good

Rebel Force Radio: Episode 3.16.18 covers The Last Jedi LEGO sets, they talk about Rian Johnson, and the delve a little into The Last Jedi documentary “The Director and the Jedi.” However, their focus on the documentary serves more as a springboard to other topics circling around the film which prove just as interesting. They also touch on Mark Hamill’s star ceremony and George Lucas and Harrison Ford’s presence there.

Star Wars Influences: Episode 28 features Jimmy and Paul as they go back and talk about the Mortis episodes from Star Wars: The Clones Wars. Interestingly enough, they stay away from Star Wars Rebels and focus solely on TCW. Their “That’s So Wizard” segment goes over the latest Star Wars products, and afterwards, Scott Murray joins them for a Chewbacca and Lando discussion and a C-3PO trivia game, which is a lot of fun. Plus there’s listener feedback. As a fan of The Geek Supreme podcast, is was very entertaining hearing Taxus get the tables turned on him, which makes this one my Pick of the Week.

The 602 Club: Episode 173 features Matt and Drea as they talk about the movie A Wrinkle In Time. First they touch on the book and the differences between the book and the movie, which I really appreciated as I’ve never read the book. They address some of the things the movie fails to do which the book succeeded at, what parts where cut from the book which hurt the movie, and how some of the changes just didn’t work in the film. As someone who saw the film and didn’t like it, I really enjoyed this discussion as there were a lot of details and comparisons to the book which I’m very curious about. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, they do go into some spoilers, so keep that in mind.

Podcast Network: Trek.fmRuntime: 1 hour 8 minutes, Audio Quality: Excellent, Editing: Excellent, Hosts: Matthew, and Drea, Rating: Great

The Deucecast Movie Show: Episode 320 stars with some discussion of the Sidewalk Film Festival, they share their thoughts on the Oscars, then they go over the top 10 favorite films of 2017. Their top ten list covers a lot of ground and a lot of movies, making for some great discussions.

The Deucecast Movie Show: Episode 321 is a combo show. On one hand, they each go over their top five most surprisingly good movies of 2017. However, in between those discussions, they also do the Deucie Awards, their movie awards for 2017. Picks include categories like best popcorn movie, worse acting performance of the year, best ensemble movie, and more normal categories like best film, best supporting actress, etc. Great show with lots of fun movie discussions.

The ForceCast: Episode 3.14.2018 has a big guest, Frank Oz. Jump forward to the 13 minute mark and you can hear them talk with Frank about his upcoming documentary Muppet Guys Talking. Frank shares some stories about the Muppets, and he talks a little about puppeteering Yoda in The Last Jedi. The interview ends about 48 minutes in. From there, they wrap up with listener feedback, and they talk about Star Wars creators and diversity. The Frank Oz interview is definitely work checking out.

Wookiee Radio: Episode 58 is their Star Wars Rebels wrap up as they discuss the show as a whole. For their round table discussion, they have guests John Tyler Christopher (Marvel cover artist) and your’s truly. I have to admit, it’s kind of odd listening to a podcast and hearing my own voice. Hopefully I didn’t ruin it for anyone as there’s some great discussion in this episode and everyone brings up some interesting topics. We cover things like our favorite episodes, are least favorite aspects of the show, what we wish they would have covered, what the future might hold, and much more. If you like Star Wars Rebels and you like discussion focused podcasts, this one is worth checking out.
