Set an even longer time ago in a galaxy far, far away, BioWare’s 2003 RPG Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic wowed Jedi and Sith Lords alike with its compelling characters, lightsaber customization, complex morality choices, and one of the greatest plot twists in video game history. Among the droids and blasters, the game delves into themes like choice, free will, and the construction of identity and memory. Featuring brand new interviews with Lead Designer James Ohlen and Senior Writer Drew Karpyshyn, game critic Alex Kane’s book unveils how this classic game was made, analyzes KotOR’s worldview through the lens of philosophy, mythology, and the ethics of war, and investigates how the game borrows techniques from contemporary films like The Sixth Senseand Fight Club. Whether you align with the light or the dark side, you’re invited to dive into this fun and thoughtful exploration of the most beloved Star Wars game of all time.

Fandom News

  • When I first heard of the Youtini Star Wars book subscription service, I overlooked it as it seemed a little gimmicky and I wasn’t really interested in a book of the month type subscription. However, after listening to the latest episode of Rebel Force Radio, I checked out their free Bookshelf service they have on their site which lets you check off all of the Legends and canon Star Wars books in your collection. This is actually a very cool feature and definitely worth checking out. It includes the novels, reference books, young reader books and even graphic novels. It’s fairly complete and they’re working on expanding it to include every book…ever. Just follow the link and sign up for the free Bookshelf feature and start clicking away on your virtual Star Wars library.
  • LEGO has some animated shorts for The Last Jedi.

  • Here’s the latest episode of The Star Wars Show. Tom Clancy voicing Anakin as Mr. Krabs is something you’ll want to hear.

Movie & Television News

  • Star Wars Rebels preview of “Jedi Night.” The show returns on Monday, so don’t forget.

  • Jon Favreau will be voicing an alien in Solo.

  • Jedi News has a nice high resolution image of the Solo poster.
  • And now for some non-Star Wars movie trailers. First up, there’s a new international trailer out for Mary Magdalene.

  • New trailer for Ready Player One.

  • Luke Evans is stepping into the role of a villain with the suspense thriller 10×10 which will be out in April.

  • New teaser for Incredibles 2.
