  • Dave Dorman finished the concept idea he had for a previously rejected submission for Celebration Anaheim, and it is gorgeous.

Book News

  • Martha Wells will officially be writing two more Murderbot novellas for a total of four. The first book is already out (and a great read) and the next three will be out next year. Artificial Condition, the second book in the series, will be out January 2018.
  • The cover for Troy Denning‘s next HALO novel has been revealed. Entitled HALO: Retribution, the book will be out on August 29th.

  • Denver Comic Con is June 30 to July 2 in Denver, CO. Star Wars guests include Christie Golden, Corinna Bechko, Dee Bradley Baker, Delilah S. Dawson, Gabriel Hardman, Greg Grunberg, Joe Corroney, Katie Cook, and Phil LaMarr. Del Rey will have signings at booth 150 with free giveaways.

  • Beyond Star Wars, if you are a Neil Blomkamp fan, you might watch to check out his short film Firebase which tells the beginning of a story set in Vietnam about a soldier going up against the River God. I got sucked into it and have to admit it was pretty neat, but it is a little gory.

  • The trailer for The Foreigner looks pretty good. It’ll be out in October.

  • And then there’s two new trailers for Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle which actually looks really fun.
